Steam special on Quake games, $2.49

Steam is having a special on the Quake games. The quake collection is $14.99 which includes about 8 of the quake games. They are also selling some of the games as low as $2.49

I don't know, just seems kinda pricey to me for such old games. Q4 isn't even new anymore.

Quake 1 and 2 look great with source mods and higher res textures.

Great games. I don't even know if I still have my Q1 CD, and I know I've lost the Q1 expansion CDs, but I don't know if I'd ever play them again even if I did.

This would be a great deal if the q2 CTF community was still around. I remember wasting a lot of my GPA at GWU and Springfield.

It's nice that they've included all of the mission packs for Q1 and Q2, I just might get it for the fun again if the sale lasts until I get home from work.

I recently played through all of Quake 1 and the expansions. The original was fun but the expansions could have been better.

It was just too much grab an item and a shambler appears. Plus the level designs left a lot to be desired.

If you pick up the pack go to the steam forums for quake. One of the users there has made a couple of patches that add the original music plus a source port(dark places) for quake and x-packs. There is another for Quake II but no x-pack music.

anyone know if the steam version of this works with the classic addons, like painkeep? I used to love that mod...
