But man, it takes some work to get old games running properly, doesn't it? I already had to download a mod to open up controller support, and Nvidia Inspector, since the regular Nvidia control panel will not let you force AA/AF/other GFX options in GTA:VC, and you need to run a frame limiter because going above 30 FPS apparently crashes the game... It's a pain in the ass for a game that is going to look like deep-fried ass no matter what because it's a 12-year-old console port.

It really is. I've pretty much given up on trying to play older games. I hate mucking with mods to begin with.....more time spent mucking around means less time spent playing. And I don't have much time to begin with!

don't forget you can get a refund if you decide to pick up the humble bundle!

That would be a pretty low thing to do. While you may not like all of the bundled games they offered, you didn't have to pay that much for them in the first place.

he said he bought the game from steam already. i was saying if he wanted to buy the hb he could ask for a refund from valve. people have already asked about getting refunds for games that go on sale soon after they purchase. it won't be flagged if they rebuy/reactivate.

This seems like one of those sales where I will buy a lot of stuff for cheap and then never play it. Will definitely keep an eye out though.

I sort of agree although some mods do add great value to anything. Steam Workshop makes mods pretty painless to install.

On a side note the daily monster game reset happened so get back in and just pump the auto fire / elements to equal levels if you don't play the game that often.

Still can't play, even with 1.8M fewer ppl playing right now, and 1500 fewer games in progress...

Is Starbound worth picking up for $10 at its current state? Some reviewers claim it is really fun, while others complain that the game is never going to be finished.

I really liked terraria, but find starbound to be pretty slow. I don't think it's even finished at this point either. At 10 buck it's not a bad deal, and the features that they are bringing to the table will be awesome if it ever gets released.

Anyone know if Grey Goo is worth it? I'm a big RTS fan, but I've heard the campaign is lackluster. Is the multiplayer scene worth it?

Thinking of picking up Wolfenstein The New Order- don't think I've seen it this low before ($14.99) and have heard pretty much only good things...

FYI, this game is part of the current Humble Bundle under the $1 section.

Thank you! I wanted to get it for a friend too so he will get a bundle instead! I appreciate it! Glad he gets World of Goo too!

Right now the best deal I see is Hotline Miami. I don't think I would actually play that game. Don't Starve is 75% off which is the most I have seen it be discounted. The game looks like a Tim Burton movie, it has had interested me for a while.

Also I try to avoid mouse games but Crysis 1 is so cheap I am thinking of buying it just so I can finally see the game and see how "The Great Crysis" runs on my rig. If you don't really plan to play the game and you are getting it for a tech demo is Crysis 1 or Crysis Warhead better?

Picked it up at the Christmas sale and played through with no regrets. No multiplayer and it doesn't have a huge amount of replay-ability (a couple of key choices change who you run into during the campaign, but that's it), but the campaign is well worth $15. Well written, good voice-acting, compelling, immersive plot.

I enjoyed Warhead more. But truthfully I thought both were excellent games. Crysis 2....not as much.

Hmmm....I might just get Warhead then. Aren't they the same engine basically? Like if my rig runs Warhead I can say it "plays Crysis."

What about Valiant Hearts? Anyone played or have a comment on that game? Cheap price and just looking at the pictures it has my kind of art style.

Wait, nevermind I saw the fine print "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Uplay."

Valiant Hearts was free on PSN if you picked it up there before. It is a Ubi-arts game so it is well made and fun. Child of Light is really good too.

How long does the monster game go for? I'm at 3.5 hours and level 450 something. Only gotten 2 cards so far though.

Been keeping an eye on the sale, but so far it is a huge collection of indie stuff I don't have much interest in, along with a few AA titles that aren't really discounted, i.e. lol @ the "GTAV Franchise" deal that is GTAV and some older stuff for $59.

Yes, I believe Crysis and Crysis Warhead are the same engine.

I believe it goes every day of the sale. The "game" resets at 9am PST every day. You only get 3 cards per 24 hour period (randomly). So if you're 3.5 hours in and already have 2 cards.....you're lucky.

They're the same engine; Warhead is slightly better looking, but shorter. If you're only interested in it as a tech demo, go with whatever's cheaper. They're both fun games though.

The game is completely pointless and a waste of time. My team is at level 525 and we've got jack sh!t for cards. The unlocks are no different or better than the sales they already have. It's a big time sync for nothing.

Homeworld redone is looking very nice at $13 and change.

You can buy now or buy later, during any number of holiday sales for even less.

It's a buyers market ...
