The problem with steam sales is they don't do the daily deal rotation anymore. Now it takes me 10 minutes to figure out that AAA games I actually want aren't discounted sufficiently, and I don't need to go back and take a look.

In ONLY for one item that won't be discounted enough for me.

You do realize it's actually better for the customer - the sale price being the whole sale instead of having to find it briefly.

'Our $9.99 Monday dinner special is so well liked, we're making it available every day'.

'That sucks'.

Well, that's if you're operating under the impression that the daily discounts don't further decrease the prices. Some think the old rotation had better pricing.

The removal of daily deals took all the fun out of it. Used to be new things to look at every 8 hours, now I just have to look at my wishlist once.

It's funny. Everything about the change is good for the customer (assuming the deals don't change), but the enjoyment of the 'surprise' makes people prefer the short sales.

I think this helps show why so many stores try the 'we're getting rid of sales to offer good prices every day' policy and is usually does so badly, like with JCPenney.

It's really hard to think of any stores that still use it, except Trader Joe's. Even Costco has monthly sales.

Yes, that's a question, but my impression is that the deals are the same. But if they were worse, that would be a valid point.

I'll throw a recommendation out. First the important stuff currently ignore if you're running Linux or any flavor of OSX (mac). Also its early access and not finish but its very playable and pretty complete. Newest version runs pretty well provided you're not on OSX or Linux. Minor problems happen but are usually fixed by closing then restarting the game.

Fun building, survival, harvesting, zombie survival, shooter.

MP can be played on free servers or one person acts as host (this method has more crashes but still playable)
My friends and I have had a great time with it. Game has plenty of mods and the XML files to change stuff in the game are pretty easy to understand.
Definitely worth $10/$16 for two pack.

Finally purchased Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Just 3 bucks! Among the best games ever made.

I like to buy stuff on steam since I can buy games for my broke brother or cousin or friend who has 4 kids who just got a divorce and the exwife moved out of country and wont help or talk to their kids at all.

How about things like the Humble Bundles? You can get a slew of cheap games that way. Hell, in some cases, I've kicked myself, because I missed out on getting a game through a bundle for only a couple dollars that never went below $5 on Steam. In other words, it would've been a few dollars to get that game + six other games vs. $5 for just one game.

Right now, they have a Sonic bundle going on, which includes Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. If you've ever wanted to play Mario Kart on the PC, it's probably your best option as it's a great kart racing game.

Looking for Pillars of Eternity.

Get it, that's a fantastic game, I've not played the expansion yet but the original which I kickstarted was really good, all the feels of an old school Baldur's gate RPG.

I'm looking at finally getting This War of Mine for a few quid because I know this game is good but was waiting for a decent price. And I'll probably give Stardew Valley a go because people said it's addictive and it's not £8.79.

Nothing else pops out at me right now, but then I do have nearly 600 steam games so deals aren't that exciting for me

Maybe, but there used to be a rule that if it's not a -75% discount, don't buy because the daily rotation will get it to -75%. Obviously new games will never hit this level, then or now. But not all older games are -75% currently. I tend to think there were better deals with the old system, but that's just my impression.

Holy crap! You aren't just Gabe's bitch, you've got a tramp stamp with his grinning face.

Now I feel better about my own meager backlog.

Yes, 7 Days to Die is an excellent game, especially at the current sale price of $9.99.

This is almost like a new game with each major iteration - Alpha 15 should be out before too much longer hopefully.

Yeah that's a good game, and the current bundle is a decent one for $10 if you want the Genesis and DC games too, among others.

Yes the community tends to be drama queens. They have a habit of latching on to missed deadlines but this doesn't excuse the Devs for communicating poorly but most complaints are minor issues again provided they're not a Linux or mac user. Overall its a fun game single player or multiplayer. Totally worth $10
Not much of a tutorial so either watch some YouTube videos or let me know I'll help out.

Yeah, I agree. Kids on Steam complain about the tiniest thing and they give games a bad name.

I bought the game anyways thanks

Is $24.99 a good price for the Black OPs 2 Season Pass? I normally hate paying for dlc but I've been enjoying BO2 playing single player with bots.

Well, I somehow unexpectedly ended up buying "Dead by Daylight" and "Ultimate Chicken Horse".

There's a theme there... somewhere...
