Can't say enough good about this game: you owe it to yourself to play it. Of all the big name game I've played in the past year, this was the most immersing and, by far, the scariest.

I'd say Frictional games is the master of horror, and Amnesia is probably the scariest game I've ever played. Nice to see more people finding out about it. Have fun shitting your pants.

in for 1 .... picked this up last night at about 11 pm. by 1145 it was installed and I was sitting in the living room only lit by the Christmas tree... I had my very exspensive set of headphones on and ended playing for 2 hours. I was absolutely glued to the mouse and keyboard. I had to stop when i got through the water part. My nerves were shot and all the hair on my arms were on ends. I love this FREAKING game

Wow...this game will freak you out. The graphics are dated, but the sound and other effects are interesting. It was weird at first, when standing still, your view moves and is tilted to one side. I guess the character you are playing has a crooked head or is just so scared, he can't stand straight?

I just saw a glimpse of a creature last night that freaked me out. But when I went into the room he wasn't there. So you have no weapons and have to run away from the creatures?

I don't think that's supposed to happen. Are you just standing there in darkness doing nothing? If so, you're probably losing sanity and your vision will be impaired, will be harder to move, and yes your screen will tilt a bit.

No weapons, not even a stick. It's not an action / adventure / FPS game - it's a horror game. Part of the horror is the fact that ANY enemy you meet will rip you a new one (kind of like how it is in the movies), so you're just trying to stay away from everything. Of course, you will inevitably be seen, ambushed, heard, etc. and will need to run like a crazed maniac to find a place to hide. "Scary" games that give you weapons to fight back with lose their edge, IMO, because you can turn your "holy crap, that noise made me not want to open the next door" emotion into a "alright, sounds like something big is behind the next door, better be ready to unload this clip into it if needed" emotion.

The game is all about scaring the living crap out of you, and figuring out puzzles. It does a very good job at it, too.

I played demo and liked atmosphere but when I hit the jumping puzzle I lost interest. Jumping on platforms is kind of HL2 2004 (Sandtraps chapter)
