YMMV, I was by a CompUSA earlier today and I took a look at the batteries. At my store, the 4 pack of AAAs were 700 mAH.
The AAs were 1600.

That would probably depend on which Enegizer charger it is. As long is it can charge NiHM batteries, there shouldn't be any problem.

I agree Rayovac only makes 700MAp AAAs, I have them but when I use them with any orher charger, other that rayovac they get noticably warm!!! I mean almost unbearably hot!!!

Aww man. I was just near CompUSA during my lunch hour (Went to Virgin Mega Store). I guess I'll have to consider making a trip there this afternoon.

Get this, my CompUSA had the AA 8-pack marked with the 4-pack SKU. I walked out of there with 16 AAs and 8 AAAs for $19.98 + tax.

FYI - this was at the Emeryville, CA store. YMMV

I have Rayovac charger, but only have Energizer NIMH batteries. And guess what, those Energizer are very hot in that charger, and the charger simply won't stop, even after 48hr charging.

And seems my Energizer were never charged full, or maybe Rayovac charger just killed those Energizer? The charger does say it can handle NiMH, and it works great for my 10-year-old Pana NiCd batteries.

I seond That! I burned up my 8 cell lRay-Ovac NiMH charger using Energizer NiMH batteries . The chagre light would never go off as WhiteMouse stated. RavOvac replaced the unit at no charge and did not even require that I return the defective unit.

I think a CSR told me before that the inventory is only updated once a day. It's never been reliable for me.

Can someone explain why NiMH batteries should never be used in smoke or carbon monoxide detectors? Rayovac FAQ doesn't say why.

Probably because rechargables don't have as long a life span as alkaline batteries and they don't want to be responsible for their batteries dying in a smoke detector and having your house burn down.

i know this sounds like I am a total ignoramus-and in this subject I really am-I just bought a few Nimh batteries and I think I will be needing more-I may go here but I have two questions:
1. What is Mah? what is a good Nimh vs a bad one?

2. can I put Nimh batteries into anything that uses AA or AAA? or is it usable only in something specific?
