I don't understand the problem w/ posting in an old thread when you have relevant q and a's. Also, your post adds nothing to the thread.
I'm looking @ Steelcase's Criterion in a couple days (wherehouse has to get them down) from a Craig's list add. They want $130, so we'll see what kinda shape it's in.
There's a guy that has a Steelcase Leap for $400 and it looks like it's in great shape, but that's about $200 over what I wanna pay.
I got the Leap and it is very good but I am still a bit disappointed. I find the gel in the ass cushion could be a bit thicker. I find the armrests are also just a hair flimsy and don't extend back enough (or was it forward...). The chair also doesn't lean back quite far enough.
All that said, most of those complaints are from me using this chair in a home office environment and I am prone to very poor slouchy posture. If you're actually working and sitting in it normally it is a very good chair. What I love most is that if you lean back the seat stays parallel to the floor so your feet always stay planted.
See, I slouch all over the place in my current chair and 16 hrs+ LAN parties are no match for it. My ass is as fresh when I leave as when I came in.
I wish I would have saved the label off the bottom. I got it in 07 when my company swapped chairs around. So I have no idea if it's a 1K chair or a $100 chair.
It's really not too bad. I will be checking out the Leap tomorrow. But your comments about lack of butt cushioning are a pretty big deal breaker.
