These are really nice headphones for 20 bucks.

I have owned them in the past and the only complaint I had was with the quality of the materials.

They sound great and are very comfortable. But be very easy on them pulling them on and off. The pivot for the cups are made of a very brittle plastic and breaks pretty easy. You can also forget about getting them serviced also. Worst customer service department I have ever run into. I don't think anyone there was over 16.

But for 20 bucks they are worth it just to use and toss when they break.

yea you aren't going to get replacement parts for it i bet. only sennheiser seems to be good at providing cheap replacement bits for their stuff. creative also doesn't bother selling replacement pads.

Sony also offers cheap replacement parts for their better headphones.

sound quality is very good on those. But they break if u drop them on the floor. Seems like they are made of a brittle plastic

heh never had experience with em, i would be surprised though..sony is good at rip off pricing.
senns had decent replacement price stuff, about 12 bucks shipped for ear pads..then again thats approaching the cost of these headphones

Turtle beach is the best in my experiance.

I had a pair of 5.1 headsets and one of the tiny speakers went dead after a couple of months.
I called them up and told them that they just needed to send me the speaker and that I would replace it. A couple of weeks later a new headset showed up and all they ask was that I return the old ones.
They never put me thru no hazels or anything.

Just got mine in the mail (odd as they shipped Fed Ex and the mail man delivered them...) they sound awesome! Paired them with the Xonar DS I picked up for $30 from frys. blows away my $5 ear buds! Extremely happy with this buy!

Sennheiser might provide replacement parts, but I wouldn't exactly consider their prices to be cheap.

Got mine and used them for several hours of gaming, and I think they're keepers.

PRO:
Open air design
White
Sits very light on the head
Beefy headphone cord
Comes with extension cord
Drivers angled for more natural sound
Velor (?) ear pads
Decent sound quality

CON:
Open air design
White
Feels flimsy
Cord too short so you almost NEED to use the extension unless you are using a portable player, then you look gay for using big cans while walking around

Yes, I put open air and white on both lists intentionally. The benefit of open air is that you can hear your environment (for instance I could hear my wife talking to me, and that's a good thing). My ears also wasn't as sweaty as when I used my Sony MDR-V6. The bad thing about open air is of course that it doesn't block out any external sounds. As for color, I guess black is a bit overused but of course white is the chosen color for Apple products.

mailman just dropped mine off... sound is very nice, super for the price, much better than the creative fatalities i got at thanksgiving (but these don't have a mic)... big ear cups actually fit over my big ears and the headband doesn't crunch my big head... definitely keepers...

Actually the benefit of open air goes further than that. closed headphones have problems with resonances within the ear cup, its a hindrance to sound quality that has to be compensated for. the sound of "openess" is also pleasant. so many high end headphones are either closed or open, each has their place.

no way you'd wear these in public yea, carrying around any large headphones is just not going to work anyways.

if ur seriously hardcore you can always spray it black lol, some people mod everything

heh, tell me about it.
<- bought a driver each for HD650 and HD580 and new earpads to go with

You could put together the whole thing just buying those parts (modular design FTW), but it ends up costing more than buying a new pair. Makes sense but that should tell you how much the parts cost.

Surprised I got mine on Saturday. They were scheduled for delivery on 5/6...

Happy Bday to me.

Anyways, I'm impressed. Definitely the best $20 headphones I've ever heard. Good great soundstage and direction from sounds. Never felt so aware in CS:S. I can hear everything.

Music sounds fairly detailed, a bit harsh, perhaps. Could use a bit more low end punch, but then again, I'm comparing the bass of headphones to 170lbs of speakers hooked up to my computer.

They're really friggin' comfortable. Feels like I'm poppin' a cherry every time I put em on.

FedEx "Smart Post" is not so smart. Basically FedEx delivers it to your local post office, and then tracking considers it delivered. Your post office then delivers it at their leisure. Typically it takes a couple days, but if your local post office is super busy, then can take weeks. Of course they can lose it too, and being that they are the post office, in my experience they won't care too much.

Usually though you just have to wait a few days to a week or two after FedEx says they're delivered for them to show up.

Unless someone stole them off your doorstep.

Those fatalities were junk, but i too got em for 10 bucks ar at thanksgiving. Those had build quality of crude junk, these are certainly better. the cord is literally more than twice as thick on these. the comfort is better, sound is better, the fatality mk2 has better memory foam/more cleanable pleather cushions though. less bass than the mk2, but more clarity, certainly far more build quality than 20 dollars shipped would imply

Yeah, pleather ear pads are more cleanable, but these plushie ones are more comfortable and breathable. Pick your poison.

Oh yeah, I have older headphones where the pleather dried and cracked, and started leaving black flakes around my ears after use.

Nope, I really like my Fatalities. They are not junk. They aren't high end at all, but certainly not junk.
