yes weird

and neither Stella nor Becks is very good at all

You're not supposed to agree that I'm weird.

Maybe Stella and Becks are not very good, if you know anything about beer or have any sort of developed taste for it.

What's a good beer? I don't like budweiser.

Oh hai...

Yeah, i like Stella.

I never used to drink beer, as yup, i found it tasted like piss.

Now i do try beer, though i am still somewhat picky.

I'd love to find something i prefer to Stella that all places i go to eat have, but that's yet to happen.

Obviously i don't doubt there's a beer out there i'd prefer, but i don't go all over trying & buying beers, my selection is limited i guess you'd say.

I did try some Innis & Gunn yesterday nite, & really liked it.

As there are beer snobs in this thread, what do you snobs recommend for someone who likes Stella, Innis & Gunn, & Strongbow (few of the ones i like).

I find it funny that the same people who hate on American Beers think Stella is ok. It's just as bad.

Only if you want fairy beer from some abbey with raspberries and shit in it. I'll pass.

Ignorance! You think Belgians quads are fairy beer? That shit will put hair on your chest. The problem is people associate Belgians with Blue Moon (garbage) or the random Framboise (most likely Lindemans) they tried once. Truth be told, Belgian beer is considered to be some of the best beer on the planet - and it has quite a bit of variety. A good dark Belgian quad is anything but fairy beer.

Stella's not bad beer. I prefer it on tap than in the bottle though. (as with most beers)

I have a 24 pack of Anchor Steam Pale Ale in the garage. $24 at Costco.

Just picked up some Stella/Leffe/Hoegaarden (12 pack/4 each).

Trying the Leffe now; it's not bad.
Still prefer Stella.

Stella is Europe's bud light. In other words, if I'm gonna spend $5 for a 16oz draft beer, I'll probably go for some much better domestic.

Yuengling did it as well. They just decided to raise the price of a case at some point and bam.. people assumed it must be high quality since it was "more" expensive.

Hey hey... Yuengling is delicious. Fuckers decided it shouldn't be should in Ohio, yet we are neighbors with the state it is produced in! (Penn)

And Pabst over any InBev pilsner? Fuck no. I'd rather drink Natty over Pabst, any day. At least Natty basically has no flavor, in comparison to... fuck if I know how to describe how the level of disgustingness that is Pabst.

For a Mass Produced Beer, especially here in North America, it is very good. It might be the "Bud Light of Europe", but even if it is that just shows how much better Euro Beers are to North American Beers.

General rule for a good euro beer...
If it's got a monk or church like graphic on a label...

It's a good beer!

No such thing as good weissbier. That doesn't exist.

What?! why eat your bread when you cans drink it!!

This one is particularity good. Yeah leaves a little hair on the tongue, but is "light" enough to drink all night while keeping enough flavor to hold good company.

I didn't think Stella was anything special. I didn't like Kölsch much at the time, but I'd probably say it's my favorite now.

Franziskaener is my favorite weissbier. I tried as many different kinds as I could when I was in Munich last year. I can't get it out here in Hong Kong though, but Erdinger is very common here which makes up for it. I also found out about a Belgian beer importer, I really need to hit them up soon but they require a minimum purchase.

Anyways, as for Stella, meh. I agree, it's overpriced. I'll go for better beers for the money. I would prefer it to be the Bud/Miller prices.

The beer has no character. Just a really generic beer that happens to not taste like crap, but definitely overpriced. The special glass and euromarketing was genius though

Well even a Framboise has its place, generally as a dessert beverage. I haven't tried a belgian quad yet, a few Trippels that I liked, but my problem is my local beverage store has such a huge selection from Belgium and other places, and alot is so expensive, that I will resort to something else(aka domestic microbrews) because if I drop $10 for one 500ml bottle and hate it...well seems so wasteful.
