You're in Florida? Why not concealed carry? Or hell - open carry for that matter.
you'd have to be a dumbass to use a firearm in a public park...the break ins are happening within 10 yards of where people are sitting.
You'd have to be a dumbass to not realize that simply wearing gun is a huge crime deterrent. I thought the main point of this was to stop the thefts, not catch the theives.

IIRC, a felony conviction in Florida precludes one from purchasing a firearm or gaining a CCW permit.
Isn't that right Alky?
I believe federal law prohibits any felon in any state from posessing a firearm.

Poor little alkemist. He wants us all to feel so sorry for him. And now he is going to do something about his problem. Alkemist is going to change the world, become a self appointed man of justice and quite possibly become a criminal in doing so.
You know what alkemist: GROW THE FUCK UP, take your losses and move on.
Your attention whoring is becoming pathetic.

Um, move out of the ghetto?
With the rampant illegal immigration this country is experiencing it seems that where ever you live Mexico is bringing the ghetto to you. It is definitely time to start taking a stand.

What you need is a neighborhood watch program, and a good lesson on local laws so you don't get busted for vigilantism.
As for those who say citizens can't do anything, there is more than enough proof that proactive citizens can and do chase crime out of neighborhoods everyday.
Criminals invariably follow the path of least resistance. They don't like or want victims that fight back. Active neighborhood watch programs are a great deterrent to property crime.

Car burglar stabbed in fight overnight with car's owner near Greenacres, lands in hospital

A car burglar got into a struggle with the car's owner early this morning and wound up stabbed in a neighborhood near Greenacres.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's officials say a 37-year-old man was attempting to break into a car parked by the owner's home in the 2600 block of Rosehaven Road at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when the car's owner confronted him.
The man who was stabbed was taken to Delray Medical Center and underwent surgery just before 5 a.m., Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera reports. His injuries are not life-threatening, she said.
Investigators on the scene tell CBS 12 that the car's owner first had to chase the suspected burglar, managed to trip him before they got into a tangle. The car owner told deputies he has no idea how the man ended up with a stab wound, CBS 12 reported.
