I just got my Sirius working again. I missed the DNC Baba Booey. I did hear some debate as to which is better

The OJ call is funnier especially given the tension but Sarah is at a real event and a real performer with a real career. I can't decide.

I think he is semi-premium at least. When I first negotiated my Sirius contract I specifically told them I wanted every channel I had in my free trial, so I have 100&101. My wife didn't specifically tell them that and she doesn't have those channels. I've never taken the time to figure out anything else she doesn't have but she doesn't care about Stern anyway.

They do have some music or news only packages maybe that's what's going on. I know for a fact Sirius radio's automatically get Stern on a standard subscription. Not saying Sirius hasn't borrowed every bad policy from wireless & broadband companies but that's a different discussion.

It depends on which receiver your car has or some bullshit like that. If you have a Sirius receiver you get Howard. If you have an XM you have to pay extra for Howard.

I made sure we have Howard Stern in both our cars (thankfully, Mercedes has Sirius receivers). Honestly, if you haven't been listening to Howard in the past 10 years you are really missing out on some great content.

The ones I saw at best buy all had Howard listed XM or not. I think it has something to do with if the radio was manufactured pre or post XM merger.

All I know is I had to pay extra for Howard when I had my Toyota but I don't with my Mercedes.

I have to call in every 5 months and demand the 5 mo for $30 deal or threaten to cancel.
I tried to combine me and wife's car accounts onto one and they said no. Promotions don't work on family plans.
Cheapest family plan would be like triple the cost of the 50mo/$30 deal.
I have to call in and go through the rigamaroll for both accounts.

I'm bout ready to go back to AM/FM. I just really enjoy all the radio talk options (Comedy, Bloomberg, 3x NPR, PRX 123, etc).
I just wish they would stop the terrible subscriptions tactics and give me a long term contract like a cell provider does.

exactly my complaint, they do the classic broadband thing and hope you'll auto renew by accident and pay $100 more by mistake.

I checked and my 5 mo ends in a week.
I called and they confirmed I cannot get Stern without a Sirius radio, unless I go to the All Access plan.
I was offered these:
- All Access $50 for 6 mo
- XM Select $25 for 5 mo

I asked if they would do All Access for $25 for 6 mo, they said no.

I asked if they could do XM Select for $25 for 6 mo. They agreed.
I might call back in and see if they can now bump me up to All Access for a trial period or something.

What is on the Stern channel at different times of day?
I only listen during commute (7-8am and 5-6pm). Does it repeat the normal broadcast all day?

I think it repeats earlier than that. Wrap-up show is after the main show, and I think the replay begins after that? Unless they do sternthology first? I'm not really sure

I love Howard's interviews but most of the bits on his show are just so-so. I'm not an avid listener but I'll check the station every time I get in the car to see if he's doing an interesting interview at the time.

Listen everyday, but it's getting hard to justify Sirius when they are only on 3 days a week and vacation so much.

The Mila Kunis interview was pretty good a few weeks ago.
Suprisingly, the Khloe Kardashian interview was pretty good back in January.
One of my favorites in the past year was Don Henley.

The Japanese lady prank call is one of the best lately.

Hahaha! I love that phrase! I think we're going to be hearing that at golf events the world over.

On a side note, my car is in for a slightly erratic TPMS so I'm driving a loaner car from Mercedes without satellite radio so I'm stuck listening to FM and I have to say that FM radio fucking blows. More commercials than music and then you have the idiot DJs who think they're funny but aren't. I had it on Dave, Shelly & Chainsaw (yeah, you read that right) for a few minutes this morning and it was just fucking awful... and this is supposedly the number one morning crew in San Diego.
