Sad indeed

Some in OZ are suggesting a State funeral. He was thier best known export, better known
than Foster's.
I hope the Aussies give him a proper send off.

Note: He died the day after Aussie Father's Day.

What kind of news site takes the time to make a report about something as trivial as that?

Wikipedia must hate big and suprising news outbreaks.

"LOL is an abbreviation for laughing out loud." - My favorite line from the article.

if u had a kid who like to play around with deadly animals to entertain people, wouldn't u want him to stop for the sake of his family? would the kid be selfish if he continues?

That's sad... but at the same time pretty wreckless of him since he had two young kids.
So you are saying fathers who are police, miners, firefighters, soldiers and other dangerous day to day jobs should just stop that line of work and leave it up to someone who is single?

Stop trying to come off like some hero who knows how everyone should raise their kids. His millions donated to help animals is something for that family to be just as proud of as a firefighter saving a life and dying in a burning building.

There are looong waiting lists to be a firefighter too, so don't say there has to be someone there to do the job, they chose it.

I thought this was just some B.S. prank going around since my friend told me, but it's so sad to find out it's true

RIP Steve Irwin

That's a shame, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy who loved his work and cared about the animals he worked with.

I saw a show once where some guy was a complete nut when trying to photograph very deadly snakes, this guy was to the point of reckless almost every time and guess what during the show he got tagged. The bite wasnt bad enough to kill him or even stop him from getting the job done but it sent him to the hospital and he sure did get a little nervous when the snake bit him. My point is these people know the risks and they chose to do it because its what they love to do, its no different then any other job that carrys danger. RIP Mr Irwin and I give the best to your family.

To those saying he was stupid doing what he did: It brought a tremendous value to the study of animals.

It's dealing with wild though...accidents happen.

Here is a quote that I thought was interesting:

"Wow, what a way to go. Good On You Steve. No lingering death in an old aged persons home. If I have to die then that's how I'd want to go.
Mehmet Tahir, London, UK"

He went out in his prime doing what he loved. He brought so much joy, so much entertainment, so much knowledge to millions of people. I watched his shows a little while ago with interest as I liked learning about animals, especially when the show is as interesting as "The Crocodile Hunter" by the great Steve Irwin.

I had a feeling that one way he would get hurt or worse. The way he went with the animals - he was taking a chance and he probably knew it. I am still shocked that he dead.

To be honest, I cannot believe there is no more "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin. ((tear))
