Huh. Kinda sheds a new light on this whole thing given recent events.
I reiterate: shellfish man leaves 3 year old son fatherless. Pun intended.

Major controversy arose during a public show on 2 January 2004, when Irwin carried his infant son, Bob, in one arm while feeding a chicken carcass to a crocodile with the other hand. The infant was close to the crocodile, and comparisons were made in the press with Michael Jackson's dangling of his son outside a German apartment window. In addition, child welfare groups, animal rights groups, and many of Irwin's television viewers criticised his actions as being irresponsible and tantamount to child abuse. Irwin claimed that any danger to his son was only a perceived danger and that he was in complete control of the situation, and consistently refused to apologize for his actions despite considerable public outcry both in Australia and abroad. His defenders pointed to his several decades of hands-on experience and direct interaction with crocodiles. Terri Irwin claimed that their child was in no more real danger than a child being taught to swim would be. No charges were filed (although the police did visit Irwin at his home and advised him not to repeat the incident).

You are very uncool. It's not nice to talk poorly of dead people. I hope you get a ban seeing how this is your second nasty statement in this thread. :thumbsdown:Originally posted by: EyeMWing
This weekend the animal kingdom celebrates a rare victory in their war against humanity. The war criminal Steve Irwin was finally, after thousands of assassination attempts, killed by a naval officer. Irwin was wanted on hundreds of counts of torture, and is known to operate a concentration camp. Camp operations are unlikely to be severely damaged.

Clearly his ability to assess dangerous situations when working with wild animals is unquestionable. Oh, wait..

Um, that was a pretty funny post. It's human nature to make humour out of sadness - I know it made me feel better. Not that I was particularly distressed anyway about a TV personality getting waxed when at least 50 people die gruesomely in Baghdad every day... This is no tragedy. I could only wish for a similar fate for myself, where I'd die quickly doing something I love instead of slowly rotting in a nursing home where I wet myself and wonder why my kids don't come to see me more. Beachboy, you are as uncool as they come.

Its just I expected him to catch it from a croc or a snake.
May he RIP and I'll pray for his wife and kids.

This is hilarious. Let's pretend he wasn't famous and that you were all reading this article. "Man leaves family, 3 year old fatherless after sticking his thumb up a stingray's arse."
You'd all be lauging and calling for a darwin award. He's a selfish prick for continuing his antics with a family to provide for.
He gambled. He lost. There's way bigger tragedies going on a daily basis.
Do you even know what a stingray is? Thousands of people swim in water with stingrays each day. They're not dangerous; this was just a fluke.
Lol. This guy is only famous for sticking his finger up angry animal's backsides- hell, they even made a southpark episode about it. I'm sure he was doing the same with the stingray.
Where are the mods when you really need them...

No becuase you are an a-hole. A man is dead and you are making fun of him. He didn't become a celebrity by "sticking his finger up angry animal's backsides" in fact, I can't recall a single episode of his show where this was the case. I believe you are an immature child who has no knowledge of who this man was or how he lived his life, and you are basing your opinions on an episode of South Park. Why don't you do yourself a favor and exit this thread before I really tear into your pathetic "arguments" and make you cry in front of all of these people?
