I disagree with your definition, I'm going with one I just stole from the offtopic sction in a thread I started.

no, his (assumed) blind devotion to one side of this debate has left him unprepared to properly criticize the legitimate faults of his competitor, acknowledge the very real positives of the competitor, and has resulted in a simple, non-descriptive ad-hominem attack on the competitor.

Throughout all of this all I can say is, make it cheaper (mass) and more open (gamers). Any Mac is a great (emphasis) web browser and media player but the simple fact is that the price is just too much when you can have a fully functional and fast Win7 machine with DX11 for a much better price/performance ratio. It's the reason why the iPhone is so profitable and the Mac doesn't have more than 15% of the market... still. The iPhone is a perfect simple handheld that doesn't complicate anything and appeals to a huge audience.
When it comes to the desktop, fuck it. It's overpriced, closed, limited and always has been. Steve Jobs threatens no PC; the majority of the market at home just wants a 300 dollar web surfer - and then you have gamers with no interest in Apple.

It's a price issue for most consumers. Lower the price and they could probably take 20% percent more sales.
As for me, I'll never use one just because of the Apple pad lock thats on the fucking thing. Nevermind upgrading, choice of applications, ect.
Open = progression and use-ability in the enthusiasts mind and closed = controlled and stable in a device type of way (probably why the iPhone is so successful).

I agree, but I don't know what you mean about macs not being open "choice of applications" is the same of any other OS, I'll give you hardware compatibility though, that is an issue I won't deny. But It comes with benefits, an operating system that runs almost perfectly on certain hardware, so it's a give and take...

Agreed, I've got an iPad, and an iPhone, I won't be giving up my laptop anytime soon though.

Yeah with "anytime soon" being the key words. An iPad or Chrome OS tablet 3-4 generations from now might have you not using a laptop anymore. I think we'll all just remote into a power home desktop machine when need to do intensive tasks and basically run everything off the network on our tablets. It's the future. I resisted an iPad purchase until last week, and no doubt I currently prefer my laptop, but there is potential in that tablet.

If Apple can get streaming to iPads (your entire media library is on-line and you stream it) it is game over for a lot of home PC users.

How so?

How will a ipad replace a 24 + inch Ultra Crisp display which home systems have?

Then fine, a MacPro could do that.

But show me a macpro which is as fast as my current system.

There isnt, because us windows guys get to cheat 33% of the time with something called OVERCLOCKING.

And even a ATOM has trouble streaming H.264 @ 1080p and downscaling. How is a handheld suposed to replace that, if the ATOM is about the fastest processor one can get in that small of a package?

Oh wait... 1080p isnt even an option for the ipad.

Gosh... you mac lovers need to take a break.
There is no way in hell a MAC is ever greater then a intel System when a MAC IS A LIMITED INTEL SYSTEM.

This is the exact same reason i got a google phone and not an iphone.
Seriously, apple lovers... Take a break... come back when you guys get OFF INTEL
And you have something really to talk about.
*sigh*
