stickers on my T-bird

woot, those guys at krex.com finally shipped my t-bird (after waiting a week and a half). However, they put 2 big green stickers on it that says "warranty void if removed". One of the stickers is actually over the HSF buffer thingy (i can't seem to remember what its called)

did they screw me? I mean did yours come with a sticker? If so did you remove it?

i also ordered from them and had the same two stickers on it. one was over the L7 bridges and the larger sticker was on the opposite side of the L1 bridges and the edge of that sticker partially went over one of the four pads. i didn't remove them since i didn't need to get to the L7 bridges. also, the four rubber feet compress when pressure is applied so the extra thickness of the sticker doesn't affect it. my measurable temps are good but i won't bother posting them since it's inaccurate anyway.

My T-Bird that I got from Monarch Computer has a "warranty void if removed" sticker on the bottom of it.

thanks, i'll keep the stickers on then. don't really care about those L7 bridges. what i was worried about was the sticker on the pad, but from Whites reply, it doesn't really matter.

my tbird from icompz said void if removed at the bottom, so it doesn't effect the cpu. regardless i was curious and asked the sales rep there when i called and she said that that's the policy but it's hardly followed there, they have ways of finding out if it's their chip (mainly the serial no. on the chip).

i would assume it's different for all retailers though (heh i actually removed it since it didn't say anything about NOT removing it on the sticker, then i noticed it on the invoice at the bottom and put it back on )

I got one from buy.com, Retail Boxed, and it didn't have a sticker.

it's usually on OEM cpus from the oem shops online so they can identify w/ the warrenty, retails wouldn't have a sticker
