Yes, this memory will hit PC2700 speeds, but only at CAS 2.5 (it will do CAS 2 at PC2100 speeds, even though it is rated CAS 2.5 at that speed). Personally I am holding out for PC2700 RAM, hoping that the PC2700 CAS 2.5 RAM will do CAS 2 at 166Mhz.

Note: You have to increase the voltage slightly to get to PC2700, but it doesn't seem to have any problem with that. YMMV may vary, though. Overclocking always carries risks and if you aren't willing to risk voiding your warranty and frying your new RAM, don't increase the voltage.

Alright guys... I jumped on this hoping I can run that PC2100 stick at PC2700 speeds. I already have my Corsair PC2400 running at 2700 speed with a 2.6 mem voltage. Hopefully this guy can do the same with 2.6 or maybe 2.7 if needed. Didn't think I'd have 1 gig of ram in my PC before next year but for $56 shipped I couldn't pass it up. Now I have no excuse not to start playing Sim City 4!

Now I'm right there with my sisters eMac with a gig of ram (of course she's been running that for the past 6 months but still...). Isn't that funny? I upgraded her to a gig of ram before myself!

Thanks for the heads up. Less than two months ago, I was paying $130+ for the same Crucial 512 MB PC-2100. Just saved $80.00.

This RAM will hit 2700 speeds with extreme ease, even with stock voltage. The RAM should also hit 180mhz, having it run at 2.9v is fine as long as the case temp isn't too hot. Even if you have 3.2v of voltage going into these... who cares? Lifetime warranty, you can get it replaced no questions asked and get a replacement within days.

what is your setup? mobo, cpu

if you're planning to overclock aggressively then get the pc3000, otherwise crucial pc2100 ram is known to go above its stated mhz, which in this case is 133mhz.
