It shows up as $1299 but if you take it to the checkout it'll be $1199. Subtract the two $100 rebates and you have $999. I phoned them this evening before ordering in order to verify the price. I had to order on the web (selecting in-store pick-up) because BB B&M won't price-match their own website! The stores have it at $1299 less one $100 rebate.

NOTE: this notebook does not come with a floppy drive although it comes with a free MIR coupon for the HP USB floppy.

Not on their website anymore. I got the diaplay model for $899-$100x2 MIRs

It had an inch long scratch on screen, minus another $100.

It has a rebate for a free USB external HP floppy drive too. !

Not advertised by CC, go to your local CC and ask for it, not sure if rebates are advertised too, but they will automatically print out once you buy the item.

The HP ZE1110 is virtually the same machine as the xf125 on the SamsClub website for $949. I doubt if others will have much luck with this at CC. I was in one yesterday (ArborLand Ann Arbor,MI) and the only thing they had cheap was an open box Compaq 700US for under $1000 (negotiable). I didn't press them because they would have needed to take off $300 to make it palatable. Still, the right person might be able to clinch it!

The Toshiba S-157's floppy and dvd drive are interchangable right? And it is supposed to come with both a dvd drive and a floppy drive correct? My friend just got one and it only had a dvd drive. Did circuit city screw up and not put in a floppy drive, or is this how it is supposed to be? If it is, it's pretty ridiculous.

Yes Sir, it comes with both. The DVD is in the laptop and the floppy drive should be in bubble wrap in the thin cardboard "compartment" inside the Toshiba box along with the manuals, CD's, cables, etc. Was the box your friend got the original, unopened box from Toshiba?

Probably the reason it's missing. I'd go back and ask about it, but if it's a floor model they may have misplaced the floppy drive somewhere. If your friend got a special price because it was a floor model, than he's probably out of luck. If he paid the full advertised price, than they owe him a floppy drive. Does the receipt say anything about it being a floor model or sold "as is"? Either way go back, ask for a manager and politely explain the situation. If they don't have the floppy drive maybe they could credit his account or give him a store credit. Its always worth a shot.

Staples still have a few of the Satellite 1005-s157 available but they are selling it for $899 - $100 MMIR.

Could anyone post the UPC code. I got the display model and they didn't have the box. I'm going to try contacting Toshiba to see if they'll be willing to help. I thought having the UPC might be useful.
