Stimulus deal struck - reports

Looks like everyone in Washington agrees we need to handout more money!

$600 a pop, $1,200 per couples. 75k/150K max income. Also $300 a pop per precious snowflake.

The net effect of this IMO is a short term (one month) increase in consumer spending which will do nothing to stave off a recession.

I look forward to dropping it into my savings account, thus doing nothing to impact the lowered consumer spending.

but now's probably a good time to invest in pepsi and walmart.

You do realize you have a mom and dad, right?

Although it should probably be capped - at say 4 kids.

Had and they both would have agreed. Having me was their choice, not every taxpayers choice.

Well, I paid way more taxes than you, and under this plan I won't get any rebate because I make more than 75K. Ridiculous.

I want everyone to get a fair shake.
Also, I think this whole stimulus plan is ridiculous. It's simply delaying the inevitable and most of it will go to China anyways. What's the government going to do, pay for our spending in perpetuity?

That's actually a good idea. We should give all of our money to the gov't and they can provide us with free health care, a job, a house, internet access, clothes, a car, and whatever else we need. With their buying power, I'm sure they could get a good deal on everything and provide us with better quality products and services than we would get through a corrupt and corporate-controlled free market system.

They should have used that money to provide health coverage to those who can't afford it.
It's ridiculous that they would tell the poor, here is your $600 check, go blow it on more junk at Whoremart, when there are people who can't afford to see a doctor.

Why stop at health care? Many people are homeless. I say the government should provide them with a house. Many people are hungry, I say the government should provide them with food. Many people don't have internet access or even a computer, I say the government should provide them both. Many people don't have a job, I say the government should provide them with one. If you just want to give people health-care, you're leaving them healthy, but homeless, hungry, and unemployed. You selfish bastard.

Healthy people are productive people who can earn all those things for themselves. But if we let our citizens health lapse because they can't afford to see a doctor, then we will have to bear much bigger societal costs later. Health is the most important thing a person has.
Also, we do provide shelter and food to the homeless at a time of need.

$150K ain't all that much when average house costs $1M in this area.
Also, the reason they don't want to give it to the rich is because the rich are more likely to save it instead of spending it on junk. Here is government trying to discourage saving and perpetuating the debt.
Hey, if they are so worried about me not spending this money, they can send me a gift card

I think you need to tap the sarcasm meter, no way a non-member of the soviet party would talk that way.
