I think you'll see it stabilize at 8000.

The problem is that a lot of stocks have been hit harder than the DOW overall. Will they survive? It's not like they weren't good companies when the DOW was at 8000, but on its way up.

Yesterday was a bad day. I was semi-happy when it wasn't dropping so much around noon to 2pm, but then went home to get some lunch and work done got back to the office and saw the Dow close at -678

It's rough but it's bound to go up...right now it's more or less a battle of investor confidence. The toxic assets should be under some control now...hopefully.

On ABC news they pointed out each day Bush made an announcement, there was a big decline in the stock market.

Is the stock market that accurate of an indicator of the economy? It seems it's a better indicator of confidence.
