That metal bracket just looks bent, I'm pretty sure you can just hammer it back to the original spot.

Doesn't look too terrible honestly.

I don't think it's "bent". It looks like it's perfect in line with the tube. I think it's just that the tube was spun and they might have broken some other brackets. Who knows. I'll fix it this weekend.

Ozum spray at first and then go to a pet store and get activated charcoal bags. They work wonders. Throw one under the seat and it will get rid of any smell in a few days.

I've redone the whole ignition column on a Porsche 944, it's honestly not terribly difficult. You might wanna think about doing something tricky with the ignition there, so if someone punches it out again (not exactly unlikely), they won't be able to start it. Hidden ignition cut switch etc would go long way.

Just encountered someone whose house caught fire. Similar to the activated charcoal, he suggested that a sock filled with charcoal works (just make sure to get the kind that does NOT have lighter fluid in it). Just crush it up and hide in under the seats for a while (in a sock of course).

Also, you might consider something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/PurePlug-Air-P...zone+generator

Run an extension cord into the car, and plug this thing in and turn on high. Let it run for a while and it should zap most smells. It's not as powerful as an industrial model, but it can certainly do wonders in small spaces such as the interior of a vehicle.

Ordered new carpet. It has the mass backing and is cut pile from acc. (Via rock auto) it was $217 after shipping. Whatever.

My old carpet is pretty trashed and needs replacement anyway. The smell still exists within the cabin even with everything but the door panels and some of the dash existing. I'm annoyed.

Also my car is throwing a check engine light now. No idea what the cause is. I need to buy another elm327 but a wifi one this time.

EDIT: Went with a USB one. Cheaper and less likely to be flakey on the connection side. (OR, at least I can't blame my iPhone)

So, I bought the "Medium Beige" version of the carpet. It was a tossup between Opal and Medium Beige when I was viewing on my laptop. They looked almost identical on it but the medium beige seemed slightly darker and that looked closer to correct (because my laptop display cannot render any kind of brown, apparently). Back on my Dell U2412 that's been calibrated with a i1display pro... There's a slight tinge of brown. Slight. Check it out here: www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1226425&cc=1363047 Opal and Medium Beige. (Ctrl+F) You won't notice much of a difference, right? I figured, "Medium Beige? Either they can't photograph carpet for shit or it's just a bad name... I know what medium beige is and this ain't it, but whatever..."

My father got it today down in PDX. Compare it to one of the backseat cushions for reference. Shitty camera phone quality regardless...:thumbsdown::thumbsdown: Fuck ACC carpet. I want my money back but what do I do? Ship it back to RockAuto with the "discounted FedEx" shipping(You know that shit is going to cost $50+) and then order Opal and get something fucking random again? Fuck. Should've just bought black or got Essex in red and called it a night.
