Hello,
I would like to edit some values; however, I don't know what program to use. I succeeded in unlocking 99% of my hidden bios features, except for one.......Hyperthreading.... I used a utility called " tmods biosmodv3". Next, I ran Intel's Hyperthreading technology readiness tool and it reported that I didn't have hyperthreading because of the following:
1. The cpu wasn't being ID as an Intel 3.06 P4
2. The fequency didn't match
3. Stop grant cycles need to be set to logical processor count -1, in this case 1
Is there a way to edit the MCH Configuation register to change the logical processor count? I might be able to enable the hyperthreading option in the bios if I can change a register or two so that it will appear in the bios? I do have the latest bios update for my motherboard and it supports hyperthreading but only if it recognizes the cpu as being an Intel 3.06 processor. I also ran cpu-z program and it reported that I did have a hyperthreading cpu.
Just a thought...Is there a utility that I can run in dos or winxp that will let me change the cpu's ID? Don't slam me please, I've read alot of posts over on VR-Zone and HardForum on this subject and alot of good ideas were posted. I think this might be the route to take.
My system:
GA-8IHXP v2.1 w/ F8 bios
Intel 2.53 ghz cpu
1 gig 1066 RDRAM
Radeon 9700pro
Antec true550w
CTX monitor
5.1 Avance audio
RF37
