Storage enclosure makes annoying buzzing sound

I recently bought a Silverstone/Teratrend TS231U 3.5' 2xbay enclosure that exhibits a really annoying buzzing sound when turned OFF. Yes OFF! When you switch the power off on the front button it will start with the buzzing. The only solution is to pull the plug at the rear end.

Anyone encounter something similar? This issue never got reported in any review so I'm quite pissed. It makes the unit feel dirt cheap and insecure. None of my other electronic appliances is making such a buzzing sound, so it is not an issue with the power outlet in the wall.

I suspect that the drive's on board power switch is not completely OFF, but leaving a low voltage warming circuit, i.e., standby. I would never notice anyuthing like that on my externals because I connect them to a power box with switches, and OFF then is the same as pulling the plug in back. If that is the case, your best bet is to return the unit or simply replace it, or connect it to a power box with switches and leave the on board switch on.

I had already connected it to a Master-Slave power box as a slave, but even if the master is OFF and Slaves are OFF due to it, it gives off this buzzing sound. Really weird. Was the last time I bought something Silverstone/Teratrend.
