She made $1,500 per day for 3 years and is homeless?

She has no one to blame but herself.

I bet her manager got 1/2 of that. Then you had whatever the state took, then you had her husband. I bet when all was said and done she saw maybe $250 a day. Which is a good amount, but mind you she made that amount on days she worked. And as far as I remember American Gladiator only filmed about 30 episodes a year. So she probably saw 30 pay days a year.

THAT BITCH blew threw probably $30k in 3 years, she deserves to be homeless!

I sympathize, but I'm also finding issues with some of her statements. She can't find work because she can't handle much walking due to her ACL and knee problem? There's plenty of jobs that don't require you to do much walking, if any, and they're usually not that hard to get into either. A call center, for example. Yeah, it can be crap work, but I'd rather work a monotonous crappy job than become a street bum. Plus, I'm sure she has plenty of personal trainer experience she could use as well, would come with as much or little standing/walking as she wished.

The article states $1,500 per day not per episode.

How the heck was SHE the victim of domestic abuse? She was huge!

(note did not read entire article but loved AG back in the day)

Seems to me instead of spending thousands to have a child, she should have spent thousands to get knee surgery to repair her acl.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's VERY hard for many of these females to get out the relationship. What should a woman who has nowhere to go do? Not everyone's ATOT rich and has a half a million cash sitting in the bank.

I remember watching some show on TV about a woman in an abusive relationship and I kept yelling at the TV that she should do things like stab him while he's sleeping or pour boiling oil on him when he's sleeping. Maybe I'm just too optimistic in thinking a woman could get away with that :hmm:

totally! I lost about 20-30k when going back to university. Not working just kills your money situation.

I used to think this, then I watched what happened when my ex wife tried to get divorced from her next husband. He beat her up several times. She called the police, they would come and arrest him, and he would be back the next day. No charges were ever filed by the prosecuting attorney. Pretty much proved to me if you have money and are in good standing in the church you can do anything you want around here.

Wow, what a fvckin dickhead. Stole your girl, and beats her up! Not cool man, not cool at all.

actors don't work 365 days out of the year

20 episodes a season and you can figure out her pay.

While it's not clear, the article does say "per day". I take that to mean per working weekday. So yeah, she made a ton of money. There's no way that she would accept $1,500 per episode. Even in the 80's that wasn't much higher than the average pay.

Quick google check says average salary in 1980 was $19,170 and the average in 1989 was $27,000. As the star of a widely popular show, I highly doubt she was only making 30k per year.

I'm glad I've never made any mistakes financially or otherwise, that way when someone's hard luck story appears I along with my fellow ATOTers can pounce upon it like Vulchers picking apart a corpse and show no sympathy all the while outlining every mistake they made.

Since AG was a live show an episode was filmed quick, $1,500 was a lot back then if you factor in how much the person actually spent working. Imagine going in to your work, spending 30 minutes getting ready and about 30 working and walking out with $1,500. If you're saying $1,500 for an HOURS work is nothing you're crazy, she was damn near making ATOT $$$. I bet most of the gladiators had other jobs. Also factor in there were what 6 or so other gladiators. She wasn't a famous actor like Ted Danson or Ricky Schroder, no way in hell she was getting 1.5k every day 5 days a week for 3 years, none. TridenT has a better chance of losing his virginity in a 3 some with Jessica Alba + Jennifer Love Hewitt.

you guys have NO IDEA how the fuck television production works.

1500 PER DAY for an actor is good money. even in 2010.

I know this is a big shock to you guys, but not everybody brings home a 7 digit pay day.

FWIW, according to IMDB, she appeared in 34 episodes across two or three years. There were 26 or so episodes each season. I can easily see her pay being $1500 per aired episode. Remember, she was one easily replaceable gladiator, out of the ten or so that appeared each episode. If American Gladiators kept 12-16 gladiators on hand for injury replacements (with Storm being one), I can't imagine them being paid very much.

Also, my understanding of domestic violence is that it's as much a psychological thing as it is a physical thing. Plus regardless of how big or strong you may be, there's always someone bigger or stronger than you. While she has my sympathies for her current situation and plight, I don't feel she deserves any more or less help than the other millions of domestic violences out there (15% of whom are men).

Yes, but it taught me that revenge really doesn't make you feel better. If I had hand picked a guy for her to make her life hell I could not have done a better job. I thought it would make me happy, but it seriously had the opposite effect. I had always thought that if you tried to beat her up, you'd wake up to the sound of a cast iron skillet being applied to your forehead. I asked her about it later and she said she was too afraid. It just goes to show you it could happen to anyone.

I sympathize with her plight, but what she did 17 years ago is absolutely pointless. It was the gimmick that made this story and it marginalizes the rest of the homeless. I feel the same about Ted Williams. That guy is first and foremost an addict.
