hopefully splitting a book in two was a one time occurrence, but the rate at which he's publishing his books, will we ever see him finish the series?

just don't want the series to drag out like WoT and progressively worsen. i had to stop reading after the sixth or seventh book

Yeah, next in the series isn't even supposed to be the last book.

I read the title and thought "has to be the red wedding". Yeah.

It's supposed to be 7 books total... the four out now plus "A Dance With Dragons" (which was supposed to come out about 4 years ago), and the last two which currently are going to be called "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" though he's changed his mind on the titles before. I hope the series gets finished, but who knows if it will actually happen.

man, and then Arya.... on her way to the castle. What a messed up set of chapters. It's amazing how a book can affect you. I had trouble sleeping last night.

I really do hope he finishes the series, but I agree with him getting side tracked. HBO miniseries, 2 PC games licensed... I guess we will have to see.

In quasi-semi-related news, in preparation for the next WoT book I've begun reading all the chapter summaries on wotmania for the earlier books. Finished 1-5 so far. Have read great things about Brandon Sanderson so am actually fairly psyched for the wot 3-book finale.

I'm assuming he changed the title of the last one from "A Time for Wolves" because there are going to be NO FRAKKING STARKS LEFT.

Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy is a pretty good read. I would not put it in the same category as Steven Erikson's Malazan series or George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series though.

Harriet Jordan (Robert Jordan's wife) chose him because of his strong female character(s). I find Robert Jordan's portrayal of women a little annoying with all the sniffing, hair tugging crap they do. I think Brandon Sanderson will do RJ proud.

I want the rest of the Ice and Fire books as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to lose any sleep if George RR Martin wants to spend the rest of his days editing wildcard books and blogging about football. It's his life and he can do with it what he wants. I hope Robert Jordan spent the last of his days loving his family and not giving a crap about the last Wheel of Time book.
