Strange Audio Stutter.

Hello, there seems to be an audio stutter that I can't get rid of. This usually happens when playing something in Winamp, but also occurs very rarely in games and such. I also noticed that it occurs when the CPU spikes in the load, and when a lot of RAM is being used. However, sometimes it even happens with just Winamp open. And a month ago my sound worked fine, no matter what I did. I installed and reinstalled different drivers for everything, and also reinstalled Windows XP, but that didn't help. I even reformated and installed only Winamp and the Realtek audio driver, but it still stuttered a bit. I also installed XP on another HD with no luck. I should add that I'm not running AV/Firewall right now, but my system is clean. I suspect it could be a hardware problem, though nothing is overheating. Any help is appreciated.

AMD 3000+ 64 Venice at stock
Epox 9NPA+Ultra
512x2 Rosewill DDR400 at auto timings (3-4-4-8)
On board audio w/ Realtek drivers
MSI 6600 GT at stock - relatively new, so shouldn't be an issue
Thermaltake SilentPurepower 480W
160 GB Hitachi SATA HD (OS - XP Pro)
160 GB PATA Seagare HD - also new

Have the same problem here... however, the CPU usage spikes aren't even that great (50% at most). Also using iTunes instead of WinAMP... It happens randomly, sometimes once a song, other times 2 - 3... (and sometimes none at all).

Already reformatted... helped for the first day... now it's back...
