..quick. kludge together a reason why it must be global warming. and it's all our (quake) fault.

I can't tell if you're being doubly sarcastic (if you are, clever reply! If not, DIAF)

Only a moron would suggest that this is a global warming issue without any scientific explanation, but only an even bigger moron would suggest that global warming doesn't exist.

We have global warming here too. Global cooling too.
Seems like every time the sun comes out, it warms up. When the sun goes down, it cools down. I have yet to see a realistic, scientific reason for it.

Oldsmoboat didn't pass first grade???:Q

You're all gonna die!!!

I reported this months ago. AT proceeded to say I am nuts.

I am nuts but that still does not change the fact I reported this months before it is reported now.

YES! Saw the title and was hoping it was a dmcowen thread (and some bashing) and was disappointed. I sort of still am...:brokenheart:

Does anyone else just like saying "Juan de Fuca"?

Anyway, those aren't earthquakes, they're sea quakes. It's just the sound of Oregon's housing market sloughing off into the sea.

Isn't there a strike slip fault out there?

Essentially yes ... there was a documentary about it not too long ago on the National Goegraphic channel which dealt with the effects of a Tsunami in the Pacific NW.

Apparently a severe earthquake could literally create a wave 60 to 100 ft high that would reach the coast in minutes & do bad things.

And you're hungry again in 30 minutes to an hour...then you just GOTTA go eat another village for dessert. (preferrably something sweet...like an all-girls school)

Well, Hillary WAS saying how she was going to announce a running mate soon to help win undecided voters over to her side.

Godzilla can eat ten thousand Japanese people, but he will just be hungry again an hour later.

As for California sinking, I seem to recall geologists saying that if it did anything, it would break away from the main landmass and move North. Anchorage, Alaska is actually a much more likely candidate for actually sliding off into the ocean.

Southern California is moving North, not falling into the ocean. LA and SF will be neighboring cities 10 million or so years from now. And, eventually LA might be part of Alaska.

At its current rate of spread, LA should reach Alaska within 155 years.
