Well, I just bought a new IIyama VisionMaster Pro451 (their newest model 19"
Something strange is happening, however:
When changing resolutions, the following problem sometimes occurs (strangely it happens far more frquently in games, than it does at the windows desktop):
1. The monitor goes black, and displays various numbers for about 5 seconds
2. The power button goes Orange (standby) for about 1 second, and then switches back to green
3. The new resolution appears on the screen "compressed", and then "unfolds" to the proper size.
I wrote IIyama, and they immediately (!) wrote back stating:
"Hello, Robert-Can you try the monitor on another PC? We do not see monitors come back for this occurrence. I suspect it is the rise time of the video card that is slow and
the new monitor video detection is faster."
I am using a Voodoo 5500 AGP, P3-866 on a Via Apollo Pro chipset. I don't experience this problem with my two older IIyama monitors, but the new one has totally different drivers and architecture. I don't currently have a second video card or computer to troubleshoot with. So, do you think his analysis is accurate?
Thanks....................
