Strange Power Losses

I'm having a bizarre issue with my computer. Just for the last couple of days for reasons I can't figure out, my computer will just inadvertently shut off as if the power has gone out. Just the computer itself goes off however, not the speakers, monitor, or printer or anything. I then cannot turn the computer back on, again as if it has no power. I have to turn off the power to my surge protect bar for about 10 seconds and then turn it back on and then the computer will come on again and be fine. Its happend 3 times in the last 2 days. Any suggestions?

Ok excuse a nub, but what is "cycling the psu power" from that other thread that was suggested?

I believe the point yankee was making is that its possibly a faulty PSU that is causing the problems.

Cycling or resetting of the power supply is when it is disconnected from the mains or wall plug for several seconds. This permits it to reset the internal breaker/fuse.
I do believe your PSU needs changing. To continue to use a failing PSU puts other hardware at risk.
