This might not even be an issue that's localized to the machine or the chipset (SiS 651), but I'll ask anyways.
When I turn on the computer, everything in POST takes 15-20 seconds to do. Initialize the clock speed, detect the drives, show the system info, find a boot device... Then when I try to have it boot to the Windows XP CD-ROM it just hangs. It's like it's unusable.
I have a P4 2.4 / 533
Corsair PC2700 XMS
CPU Temp is running @ 45 degrees with the fan on medium speed (the case turns the fan speed up automatically if it gets too hot). I have also tried pointing a very large fan at it thinking it was a problem with the CPU getting too hot, but that doesn't appear to be the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with any other motherboard?
Thanks.
