Strange speaker feedback problem/issue

I have an interesting sound issue that just recently reared its ugly head. I am getting popping, and very annoying, feedback through my computer speakers at random times throughout the day. This just started a few weeks ago. The 1.5 years prior I never had this issue. Check out this youtube video I made to show/hear the problem.

I have this Auzentech Forte sound card with Auzentech drivers. I changed to PAX custom drivers in an attempt to solve the issue but it didn't do anything. I've had this sound card for the entire 1.5 years.

I had these Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers before and during the issue. I replaced them with Corsair SP2500 speakers thinking that it was a speaker issue. I have the same issue with either set of speakers.

I'm at a complete loss as to what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas? feddback? info? answers?

Have you tried using the intergrated audio on your mobo to see if the problem persists, this can eliminate or isolate the sound card as the culprit. It sounds to me like interference from another source located close to your audio cables. Have you added anything to the area like a fluorescent lamp? You may need shielded audio cables.

Great suggestion on trying the onboard mobo audio. I will give this a shot and see what happens.

The 3.5mm to RCA audio cable i am using is shielded. There has been no additional hardware added in the 1.5 years. My wifi router sits on the back of the desk in the same spot it always has.

using the onboard sound should pretty much tell you what is wrong. If the problem persists on the onboard sound then your next step is going to be to try a headset maybe and see if it persists. Whatever is causing it has to be identified first, through isolation.

it just hit midnight here and i've been on the onboard sound for roughly 1 hour. so far so good with no feedback. i'm going to give it a good 3-4 days to be sure though.

if it is my auzentech forte that has died on me then i have already identified the Asus Xonar Essence STX as a replacement

The power bar is the multi plugs. it as a reset for surge protection.got one acting up on me once. if you have one?

I'm running a beefy APC UPS. Been using it for 7 years, changed the battery on it 3 times. It's working fine and the battery was replaced on it about 8 months ago. I don't think it's my UPS causing this issue.

I went ahead and purchased an ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card. A nice sleeved molex extension cable (for easy and clean install in my 800D), and a shielded 10ft. long RCA cable from monoprice. All ready to replace my broken Auzentech Forte when it all comes in sometime next week.
