Maybe you should start right NOW, I've watched all 3 stages and the extras. Initial D makes me want to be a street racer just like Slam Dunk made me want to a basketball player hehe.

LOL....that's a good one. You have to keep in mind Japan's a little more open about nudity, similar to European standards (if you've been to Europe, a full shot of a female taking a shower for a shampoo commercial isn't uncommon....it's just a plain shot, not the overly sensual stuff you see here).

Robotech is the reason I got into anime in the first place. Then Macross (I'm still dyin' for a Veritech!!!!), and it just kinda went uphill from there Through 'n through, I'm a Ranma 1/2 fan I have all the Manga!

Monkey, if you like Macross, there is a new one coming out called Macross Zero. Of course this page is in Japanese, but most of the navigation is in english, so if you just want to look at pictures... As for Totoro on DVD, I know it was released in Japan and has english subtitles. You can find it at CD Japan, Amazon Japan or any other store that carries import DVDs, but you would need a R2 player.

BTW, Totoro is pr0n too. Look at that pedophile taking advantage of those children.

actually, there is also wangan midnight (wangan is japanese for bay coast highway) in addition to initial d. this is THE game that had a big part in the tokyo extreme/shutoko highway battle series
in fact, the arcade version of wangan midnight uses the engine from the ps2 version of txr0 afaict
also took pics of the lupin gun game based on time crisis (actually it might have been hotd, but this was in namco init, so i'll have to recheck the pictures to make sure)

Best anime film by far has to be Akira(even though its like the only one i've seen =) I love the realism in it...cop beatings and abuse, corrupt politicians, mindless fickle crowds that jump onto anything, blah blah blah... Kinda gives you a glimpse of what this world could come to be. If we're not already there that is. Other anime which I loved watching and grew up with (used to live in France, and, thank God, back in the day they showed anime instead of disney) are Dragonball, Ranma 1/2, and this other one which I cant remember the title to. It involved Zodiak sign fighters(Like Libra, Leo, etc) in shiny armor and bad weapons, who were involved in the saving of this chicks life. There was one warrior for each of the 12 signs, and the main(good guy) warriors included this dragon guy (all decked out in green armor), the andromeda guy(he wore pink, and controlled chains =), a pegasus dude(who was like the main, main character)...and some others. ANYONE KNOW WHICH ANIME I AM TALKING ABOUT? If so please tell me, it will bring back memories.

In America violence and nudity are two entirely different animals than in the rest of the world. We can have tons and tons of violence in a PG-13 movie, but one little bit of nudity in a nonviolent film and it's bumped up to R. So to those who say anime is disturbing, watch a few more episodes, watch a few more movies, and perhaps you'll change your mind

Akira. Sorry, it was ok, but not as great as some other work I have seen.
Dragonball. Yeah, lets use violence to promote non-violence. Its like a 30 minute sugar rush, but from crappy candy.

Notice I never mentioned Gundam? I have a few Gundam books and Gundam toys, but I never saw an episode or movie.

anime is not disturbing, but pokemon was disturbing, is it anime? NO! or at best an americanized bastardized version of it, no plot, nothing ever dies, animation detail is subpar, originates from a video game, a pure disgrace
