Streaming Music/Movies with xbox 360?

I was streaming music and movies fine for the last week or so. (Just got the xbox) Then today I can't see any of my movies and only 3 songs. They are the 3 songs that windows automatically installs "Highway Blues" the Beethoven one and "Like Humans Do".

The only thing that I can think of is that windows automatically updated last night and it somehow changed something. I can see all the movies and music when I go to WMP. Any ideas?

i'd just go check the sharing settings in the wmp library.

I already did that. I even tried removing it and adding it again.

I did a system restore to a few days ago and everything is working again. Still not sure exactly what happened though.

This has happened to me before. I discovered that I needed to go into WMP and remove the actual files from the list and add them all again which took a little time for it to index, but it wasn't a big deal.

If the problem occurs for you in the future then try that. If that doesn't work then remove the files again as well as the settings in WMP which are selecting certain folders to look for media files. At that point, move all of the media files from the folders you intend to share and place some elsewhere. Go back to WMP and set it up to share what are now these empty directories. Lastly, move all of your media back into these folders. That will hopefully index and stream them all properly.
