Here is some unlocking info. Got this info from Shoryuken. It is from a review copy so things could change but probably not.

* Beat the game with anyone to unlock selectable voices per character (JP or EN voices available from start)
* Beat the game with X to unlock Y:
Ryu -> Sakura
Sakura -> Dan
Chun-Li -> Gen
C.Viper -> Cammy
Abel -> Fei Long
Bison -> Rose
* Beat first Time Trial and Survivor with any character to unlock colors 3 and 4


In addition there will be a challenge mode that looks pretty excellent for a primer. It moves through simple actions to combos, ultras, and focus attacks.

I wish I had the money to pick up this and one of the SFIV arcade sticks. Barnes & Noble had a price mistake on one last week but that order was canceled.

Yeah they cancelled mine too. They cancelled all of them. i already have one paid off at the regular price though at 150.00. They are really awesome and if you play as much as me then it is worth it.

For people that don't like the sticks or don't want to pay that much for them, there are gamepads. I heard good things from people that used them at CES. The D pad is like the Saturn pad (best pad ever for fighters)

enlighten me.

what is so good about this game? other than the graphics, this seem like a remake of the original. same gameplay, same characters, same style (except for new super system, but its still pretty much the same). I have SF2HD right now and i heardly even play that.

well for starters ....

it's got different graphics, it's not a remake of the original, it's not the same gameplay (mix between sf2 and sf3), it's got a ton of new characters, the style is nothing like sf2 and not much like sf3.

Yup. All of my cousins chipped in the Thanksgiving it came out and we didn't care one bit as we all shat our pants when my aunt walked in with the game.

We proceeded to play until about 5AM when my uncle forced us to sleep (or we would have played through the night).

I'm not so sure I'll pick this up - maybe if I can get a good deal on arcade sticks.

This is my most anticipated game of the year. I consider myself a SF fan eventhough I only had Turbo on the SNES and never played any others in the arcade (did go to the arcades but watched as a kid). I played the crap out of it though and in preparation of SF4, I've been trying to absorb as much material from it as I can. I've been watching videos of the top players and reading SRK.com (probably on it more than ATOT/ATCG).

I have the 360 CE and TE Fightstick pre-ordered at my local GameStop and can't wait to play...

Yeah, I've checked out the Hardcore Magazine feature. It's pretty informative. The frame data that's available on the web helps a lot too for combos and blocking strings. The stuff that's already out and available can be pretty overwhelming. I mean, it's one thing to know what to do and theory-fight, but it's a whole other ballgame when it comes to actually putting it in use and performing. I plan on putting in tons of hours and gradually getting better.

He's always been my main but if he is too overpowered this time, I might just use someone else. Either way I'm gonna practice for a day or 2 before I jump online for ranked. If friends listers are playing though, that would be good practice.

Sega Saturn pad...greatest pad ever for fighters. Many pads over the years tried to be like the old Saturn pad but where never as good. This one by Madcatz looks nice and one of their reps admitted that the Saturn pad was the main inspiration. Too bad its not out now so I can play SF2HD with it until SF4 comes out.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to do the Challenge mode and whatever the single-player is called to brush up before I go online and get my butt handed to me. You're already on my friends list so we can play together sometime.

Sagat is the best character in the game in the arcade version. I doubt he will get nerfed enough to not be top tier.

Sagat is the best character in the game in the arcade version. I doubt he will get nerfed enough to not be top tier.

As long as he's not considered broken. He is god tier in the new Japanese tier...I don't know, he doesn't have anything that is ridiculous, he just has alot of options. It'll be interesting to see how the console characters stack up. Rose looks like a decent Sagat counter.

I can't wait for this game! I'm listening to the Gooteck's podcast right now featuring Mike Ross, LOL.

I've only played a few times in the arcade and boy do I suck...but, I'm going to practice a lot on the PS3 and try to get to a decent level. I gave up on fighting games with the onset of the versus series and 3S was just way too technical to just "pick up". (none of my friends play)

I'm waiting for Norris sticks to restock and hopefully I'll have an arcade stick before the game releases. I want to set up an AT online tourney a month after release, would anybody be interested?

I'll have the 360 version but I'm gonna use the first post in this thread to compile gamer tags for AT players of each system. That should help you try to get a tournament organized.

I got Gootecks queued up to listen to after RebelFM gets finished. It is a good listen for nice general tips and insight into how the pros play.
