I was too busy trying to get all the colors (gotta catch 'em all ). Now I just want to play online until I no longer suck.

Tell me about it. I'm up to 80 now I think. Played against a guy online using Dan whom I had a really close match with. So we hopped into a private match and did a best of seven, my Sakura against his Dan. I won the first, then he reeled off the next 3. I was getting so aggravated because for some reason I always get thrown completely off my game plan when I get low on health or I have that stupid ultra pulsating in the corner. I love this game and hate it at the same time. I still feel like my 27% winning percentage is pretty good, though.

one tip too, don't use the ultra as soon as you get it. i know you may not but from what you stated it seems as soon as you see it pulsing you want to use it, but don't try to use it unless you know it will connect.

it's funny cause when i play random people and they are kind of new to the series, you see them try to use the ultra asap the majority of the time. recently if i'm doing well and i can tell that i'm better than the person i'm facing, i will back off when i see they have their ultra.

i'd say like 75% of the time they rush to use it and will end up leaving themself open for me to attack them after they miss it.

also, that 3-in-a-row achievement is for ranked only, not player match, so i don't think you woulda gotten it anyways

and i can't wait for the replay feature!

The sad thing is that I really feel that I was better than that guy, I just need to get out of stupid habits when playing this game online. I would actually say that out of the 8-11 rounds he won, he finished me off with his Ultra at least half of those. He always caught me mid-move, and I don't think he meant to do it, he just got lucky, because I blocked several other Ultra attempts. Almost every time I lost, I had him below 15% health.

Early reports are that Dan's actually legit in this game. He's not in a league of his own (ie, not horribly bad).

Yeah I can't find these anywhere. Tried 3 gamestops and a best buy and no-go. They all had no idea when a new shipment would come too, so it'll be hit or miss for awhile.

Oh yeah, they were all over the place the week before and around launch. I shoulda bought one just in case and if I didn't want it, return it or sell it. Had no clue it would be this hard to get one later on. Oh well. Now I play the waiting game

im actually getting pretty good with the 360 controller, no way i was using the default button config though. I have A as LP, X as MP, and left trigger as HP, left bumper as all three. The kicks are the same setup on the rightmost "column" of buttons. It was easy for me to learn this way since punches were on the left buttons, kicks on the right, and going from bottom top with lights to heavys.

I wouldn't get one, the stock stick/buttons are complete garbage. People on SRK are saying they're just fine when you swap them out, but since the stock stick and buttons don't even last for very long, I doubt the PCB will either.

every friggen match tonight the other person refused to pick until i picked
so of course they pick the counter to my pick
ie blanka vs my zangief etc..

Oh, I've read everything about them. I just wanted one for fun. I'd swap out the buttons/joystick with the spares I have laying around. Heck, I even have a Cthulhu board laying around right now.. lol

In my opinion Gief vs. Blanka is not all that hard. Most people would rank it 4-6, but I'd say its closer to 4.5-5.5.

Really all you have to do, is turtle until he wants to do a random blanka ball, then you can punch lariat and it beats it clean. Don't try and do anything on his wakeup since up ball will beat anything from Gief, unless he does electricity, then you can EX Green Hand to beat it or if you're adventurous you can SPD if you space it properly.

If the person doesn't do stupid things, you pretty much just have to turtle anyway. You really can't do much air to air, so most of the time I just crouch and wait for a jump in. If you time it right, you can either beat or trade with a jump in if you are crouching and you wait till the last second to punch lariat. You would want it to trade, since you can get the first hit of EX Green Hand to hit after the trade. Once I've got a life lead, I just jump back MK because it pretty much beats anything on the ground for Blanka and it also beats Blanka balls.

Didn't even think about seeing their character. I agree it should be hidden, and it should be easy to implement.

On another note, I finally unlocked Seth. I was worried about him being overpowered or something so you'd see nothing but him online, but that's not so. He's a solid character IMO but not really 'cheaper' than any other character. Just like anybody else you have to know what you're doing to make him effective, so it's good to see he won't unbalance anything.

They "balanced" Seth like they "balanced" Gouki. He has 750 life if you pick him, and thats worse than Gouki who has the worst life in the arcade.

It's not just that, nothing he does seems unbeatable unless you have impeccable timing. But if you have the timing that spot on anyway then you'll win with anybody.
