The game has slowed down too much for my liking I'm used to being able to advance and parry through people that try to play defensively, now it's a lot of fireball battles and a game of position. Going to be a tough transition for me.

Yeah I think the TE is still better and cheaper when you factor in overseas shipping and exchange rates and stuff.
I paid my TE off last weekend! I preordered mine in Nov. So Gamestop better get me one.

The PS3 version is essentially an HRAP3 with an SF4 graphic on it, which isn't too bad. Sanwa stick and Hori Buttons. It isn't that expensive to swap out sanwa buttons, and you should be able to find it all over ebay, so shipping won't be too much.

As far as I know, that's not true. The $150 stick is all Sanwa parts and is exactly what they use in the arcade.

I have the HRAP3 and, while nice, I hate the fact that the directional buttons are 8 ways rather than a smooth 360 degrees. And these arcade sticks are also light. I wish I could make them heavier.

I also have the HRAP3. When you say directional buttons, are you referring to the.... stick? All sticks are like that. They only register in 8 directions. I don't mind the lightness, but if you wanted to make it heavy, opening it up is easy enough and there is space to put stuff in to add weight.
The HRAP3 is a very good stick. Sanwa stick, Hori buttons. Swapping out buttons for Sanwas (or Seimitsus) is also very easy. The SF4 TE has a few advantages aside from being all-Sanwa to begin with. It's heavier, and you can replace the stick with any other stick (some or all Seimitsus don't fit on the HRAP3). It also has a few bells and whistles, like the ability to tuck in the cord inside a compartment.

SO there are no arcade joysticks that have a smooth 360 degree rotation like we get at the arcade? That's a shame because I was going to start looking for them.

you can buy a 360 one from happ controls.
i used to have a 360 degree one in my Mas stick, and honestly, I prefer the 8 way clicking one over the 360 degree one.
EDIT:
and i haven't played sf4 in the arcade, or arcade games for like 5 years for that matter, but all of the games I played in the arcade had 8way sticks, not 360 degree ones, and my ki2 cabinet has 8 way sticks in it.

Hmm. Maybe American sticks like happ or mas have 360 degree rotation. I'm not sure. I'm new to sticks myself. I like the 8-way sticks because it tells me when the direction I'm trying to input registers.

happ is a joystick company, they sell both types, the mas you can get either one as well.
i think it's purely preference.
i am like you and enjoy the 8way because you can hear it click when you push it in directions. the 360 degree one makes no clicks or anything.

wow... I hope there's not a lot of story or anything as the voice acting is quite bad for many of the characters. Gameplay looks bad ass though.

i love that trailer. Some of th voices suck but a cool thing about SF4 is that you can individually toggle each voice for Japanese, which I think will show subtitles. So like I'd leave Cammy's, ElFuerte's, etc. and change Chun-Li's, Akuma's and others.

Although, for those of you playing already - I watched one guy, who was pretty good, play Sagat and he would consistently FADC out of an uppercut just to tag them with a kick. I can understand when he has the ultra lined up and can combo from the juggled kick, but why would you waste meter just to get an additional hit in?
