I want to check it out but I'm to scrubby to pay 1.50 per play. How many people are usually playing it?

These were awesome.

I like the end where he says he hasn't played SF3 in 4 months lol.

Although, for those of you playing already - I watched one guy, who was pretty good, play Sagat and he would consistently FADC out of an uppercut just to tag them with a kick. I can understand when he has the ultra lined up and can combo from the juggled kick, but why would you waste meter just to get an additional hit in?

Yeah he owned. Check the sim out. It looks like he ultras then does a short slide and combos with the super. It is at the end of the video.

I've only been twice, but the SRK threads suggests that they gather pretty consistently on weekend evenings.

It's a shame a lot of US players are not using Dhalsim but If I were playing against Iyo I would chip that fucker from afar with fireballs all day, stay away from his limbs and try to win with TIME victory. I know, very lame, but Dhalsim can not rush down or pressure, he's all counter and anticipation. Yeah Dhalsim can teleport behind his fireball, ala Strider/Doom assist, but that's pretty much it. God...so different from how I would play with Makoto in 3S At least Kara's are still important.

Assuming you watched the grand finals video, Sagat's seemingly top tier and there isn't anybody better at chipping away with fireballs...and yet he still got destroyed. Iyo's zoning was just top notch. Some of his other videos are much more impressive too.

Yeah I watched that match - good match btw. Iyo played Dhalsim like he's supposed to, defensively, maintaining range and countering anyone that tries to rush. The Sagat player did throw a lot of fireballs but he also tried to approach Dhalsim too much. I think the Sagat player would have done better had he stayed away full screen and keep throwing fireballs until Dhalsim tried to approach i.e. don't play until Dhalsims hands and make him come at you.

Can you explain the difference between the Tournament Edition (at Capcom.com), Regular Edition (also at Capcom) and the HORI Real Arcade Pro EX?

I want the best bang for your buck and I'll pay for it but I don't want to have to spend a week learning how to mod, tweak, etc. Just tell me what the most popular mod(s) are out there and where to get it and which stick to get. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I just ordered one from Capcom (TE Edition) for the 360. I figure it's at least as good as the HORI and from Slickdeals it seems like it's limited (higher resell?) and it's moddable.

Is anyone else having trouble reading the Hardcore Gamer guide? I tried the link in the OP 3x and then went directly to the HG site to try. I get a 4.0kb file and Acrobat can't open it.

The TE stick uses highest quality sanwa buttons and joystick. The casing is made of the same material as the official arcade cabinets which is very high grade.

The regular edition fightstick is pretty well made, just that it uses madcatz buttons and stick and not sanwa ones. It's still highly and easily moddable if you want to put in high quality buttons or a stick.

The HRAPEX uses hori parts and not sanwa, and I think it costs near the same as the TE edition which obviously means you should get the TE if you were considering the two.

The TE stick is easily moddable but the awesome thing is there is really no need to because it already has the best stuff.

I preordered and paid for mine in Nov. so GS better not screw me on release day. Word is that it is going to take until the end of March or something to fill all the preorders.

They only made 3,000 initially and tgot way more orders than that so they had to start production back up.

I can't wait to stop using my Hori Ex2. That thing is a pos.

The HRAPEX should have a Sanwa stick and Hori buttons, right? Replacing the buttons with Sanwa buttons is easy, but given how late it's coming out, might as well get a TE.

If you missed out on pre-ordering the Tournament Edition Fight Stick, some Game Crazy's are still taking pre-orders. The guys I talked to at 3 different stores said it would be guaranteed on release day. I'm a little skeptical about that since there's supposedly a limited run (though I hear Mad Catz has been cranking more out to keep up with demand), but I put down a pre-order anyways in addition to my Capcom order.

oh yeah i was referring to the price that the capcom store was selling the stick for ($135 due to a 10% discount) but that the stick just sold out today on capcom's website.

here's the thread, maybe they'll allow for more pre-orders before the ship date.

So there are three SFIV sticks, plus a gamepad? All made by Madcatz, which is not really known for making great peripherals but happens to be this time around?

There are 2 SF4 sticks made by Madcatz and 1 gamepad. A guy (markman) that is very involved in the fighting game community and posts alot on CAG, SRK, and Gaf was involved in creating these. He has over 100 sticks and he knows what he's doing when it comes to sticks. I trust what he says when it comes to sticks. Plus all of the reviews have been 100% positive.

yea and the high-end one does not use mad catz parts. there is a big difference between those cheap parts and the true arcade parts.

i have had an sf:ac joystick for a few years now (converted to work on xbox360 now) and I used it w/the stock buttons for about a year. they felt okay but felt "cheap" and didn't have that arcade click I was used to.

so then I remembered i built a joystick for PSX way back in the day that I didn't use so I took all of my buttons/joystick out of there and put it inside the SF:AC joystick, and it felt straight up like I was playing at the arcade now, clicks and all.

that is how the $150 one will feel.

I use to love SF2. This post is the reason I am not buying SF4.
