It's not that there's so few people, it's that the people that are fighting already aren't going to show up on the list. So there's only a few people available to fight.

i sure suck bad on this online. i figured out a good way though to boost your BP. Fight everyone who has language priority set to French I kept challenging the same 2 french folks over and over again and got a couple hundred easy BPs

I suck at timing combos in challenge mode, someone please enlighten me on the timing. So I am doing Ken's and I am on the third one in normal. The first combo is "hard kick" followed by "hadoken." No matter what, I can't connect these two. Do I have to focus cancel from hard kick and then hadoken?

Just do it really really fast.. that's all I can say. Took me a while at first to do too. Most of the third challenges involve something similar.

This internet fighting thing is great. I just got schooled by a very tricky Gen player who kept poking and floating my Zief like he was a balloon. I was honored to play and lose to player like that. I also fought very annoying keep away Seth player. He kept throwing those sonic boom things at various speed and as I closed, he would either wall jump away to the otherside or teleport away. The battleground is too wide and makes this technique pretty effective. But it was a nice change of pace from the countless Ryu/Ken/Sagat drones.

No focus cancel. It'll tell you if you have to focus cancel. Just do a hard kick and quickly do the fireball motion.

yea i'm having a hard time with some of the challenges that are the same, roundhouse to special
it just won't come out right after, and when it does, the red part goes away so i don't get credit for the combo

some of the combos you have to do require cancelling or 2-in-1 to do.

i am not 100% positive what Ken's is, but is it the one that is a standing feirce kick into a fireball?

if it is and i'm not mistaken, you have to stand right next to the character where ken will do a 2-hit fierce kick, and you have to cancel into the fireball before the second hit of the kick hits him.

there are a few challenges like this, or ones that require the other character be in the corner when you combo. i really wish they had some kind of demo you could have the AI do of the combo to help in these situations.

what i've been doing for some of the hard challenges is looking on youtube to see a demo video. they are up there for everyone.

I was playing it with my friend the other day and we were both so bad... couldn't remember most of the moves . We would see our bars fill up on the bottom and have no idea what to do with it heh.

For little annoyances, I think they need to work on the announcer voice and how it sometimes likes to say the same darned thing in a row because of some poor conditional logic.

Are you waiting for the kick to hit before you do the motion? I don't wait. I just start the motion right after I tap kick.

The huge freaking timing window for reversals is really bothering me, not to mention that it will switch the direction of the persons move if you cross up. This and the easy inputs are the only things I don't like.


Got 16 in a row yesterday. I went 3 hours with only losing 3 matches. I then switched to the SF4 pad which has a different button layout. I was just messing around in trials. Later that night I went back to stick to play some ranked and lost 6 in a row and 510 bp before I realized that it wasn't just me, it was because I forgot to remap the controls for my stick.........Until then though I thought I was going crazy.

Yea, that's the one I am having trouble with. That's so retarded, why the hell would you want to fierce kick and cancel to do a fireball in the first place? That's a lot of button pressing for minimal damage.

Purbeast, when you say cancel, you mean focus cancel right?

Purbeast, when you say cancel, you mean focus cancel right?

no i mean just a normal cancel, which is similar to a 2-in-1.

you can cancel certain normal moves w/special moves.

Yeah, so as anticipated I'm bad at this game. On Very Easy I had to continue three times. Granted, I don't know ANY of super duper moves (I know the basic hadouken and such, that's about it).

probably a good idea to go through the first couple normal trials in challenge mode for a character before you try to use him. Or you can at least pause and check the move list.

I know I'm gonna take flak for this, but I just got the game and I gotta say I straight up don't like it. I know it's not for everyone but...I dunno, guess I just had higher expectations (I was addicted to Marvel vs. Capcom, this just isn't quite the same). Good graphics, decent fighting, it just isn't my cup of tea.

Meh, everybody doesn't have to like everything. When the novelty of having a new SF game wears off on me I doubt I'll come back to it often. As much as I like it now it doesn't have the multiplayer staying power of other games. That said it's definitely my favorite fighting game.

$70 seems low for what most of these things retail for...I thought they were like $150.
