what grade level?

G2-X most likely. That Balrog was not bad at all. Abel doesn't have anything that counters against projectiles so majority of the time I'm sitting there waiting for an opening. EX qcb+kick goes through the fireballs but obviously it's not practical. Dangerers offensive plan is zoning.

That's a good Balrog. Reminded me of purbeast0.

Chrono, I saw your Abel vs Abel video replay yesterday. I was checking how far up you were points wise. You're like in a different league way up there. I made it to G2 yesterday. I haven't played much due to work and family obligations. Glad to finally get out of G3 where 99% of your opponents are Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and Sagat. Talk about grinding. It's like playing time attack mode against the computer. Wave and wave of mindless drones.

So I got annoyed at Chun Li after being beaten by her the 10000000x time and decided to start using her to learn her moves and apply what I've seen people do.

Let me tell you that she is SOOOOOOOOO easy to use, it's just mind boggling to see how much priority her frames have against others. My first match with Chun Li was versus another person using Balrog and I beat him even though I've never used Chun Li before.

All I did was regurgitate what others were doing with her. HA. No wonder there are so many Chun Li users.

same goes for cammy. her priority is amazing on most of her moves. a rush down cammy is very hard to defeat simply because of her priorities and the low recovery of her moves vs your block stun.

and on a side note, chun li is one of the few people i have much trouble at all defeating when i am playing as balrog.

Naustica are you still playing sf4?

I want to play some matches against a good Zangief, and I think I remember you were annoyingly good with him. I tend to have some problems against good Zangiefs when playing in championship mode. Last night I faced one who had almost 15k pionts in a championship final, and I almost beat him in the third round, but it is so hard to get in on Zangief, and then if you make 1 mistake, bam, 1/4 of your life is gone.

I need to practice against a zangief that can basically just completely kick my ass and try to win as "cheaply" as possible against me, so that I can learn how to counter it.

I think I'm at a point in this game where I need to buy a joystick. It's really difficult to do some of the more advanced moves on a controller.

I'd like to set up a sparring match against someone who's really really good at a particular person. Meaning someone with high Championship/Battle points or something. I need to learn from someone with a high SF4 iq.

This is how I feel... was thinking of grabbing a stick and then swapping parts out as needed. Eventually you reach the point where using two thumbs just can't beat using your wrists and all your right hand fingers...

I still play occasionally. My Zangief isn't that good. I think you'll be disappointed. I'm just good at spamming lariats.

I fought and lost to a Balrog the other night on championship mode. He opened my eyes. What I remember from that match was he punished random lariats repeatedly. So often that I was afraid to throw out random lariats at certain distances. He punished it cleanly with well-timed regular headbutts and dashing punches. Once he took away the lariats, it made it easier for him to get in on me. I had to rely more on jabs to stop the dashing punches which makes it harder to stop the armored ones. He played more defensive style.

I finally ordered the Tournament stick for the PS3. Gamestop had it in stock online today so I ordered one. I feel crazy for spending $150 on a joystick so I hope it's worth the hype. I'm looking forward to finally retiring my cheap $40 Hori stick.

I picked up that stick as well, Naustica. I figure if I don't like it I can flip it on to the market; these things are becoming a bit harder to find, but you can probably get back at least what you paid for it.

Hot damn, that's a hell of an akuma. I don't know if it was just that akuma was doing so well, but whoever was playing sagat was playing like a total noob. Turtling w/ projectiles won't do jack shit.

Send in a complaint. MS apparently has a zero tolerance policy on abusive language especially with racism. You could quite possibly get his account banned. Wouldn't that be fun?!?

just picked up the game yesterday. seth is a flamer. took me about 2 hours to beat him in normal difficulty. c viper was pretty tough too. used ken because i'm most familiar w/ him.

the game is great and reminds me of whe n iwas in the second grade spending hours of the weekend trying to beat bison at 7 difficulty.

got a question for all you stick users though. i've never had a problem playing other fighters on my SNES / dreamcast controllers, but the PS3 controller really made my thumb hurt. every time i tried playing SF at the arcade i couldn't get used to using the stick. what is the advantage of stick over the Dpad?

Once you get use to it you have a lot more control and moves are much simpler to pull off. W/ the d-pad any small movement the wrong way will end up hitting diagonal instead of down, or things like that. W/ the joystick you have to be pretty off to screw up like that. It's a bit more forgiving IMO.

If you think it's fun, then you don't deserve to play online. It's immature, childish, and completely unnecessary. I have voice chat turned off at all times as I'm sick of trash talk I hear with some games. Sending messages is a whole new low. I've had a few folks send me voice messages after a SFIV match similar to purbeast0's guy, and I immediately report it to MS.

there is different degrees of trash talking.. nothing is wrong with a little talk as long as its in good taste and goodfun. that message above is not that. part of playing is to trash. there is no need for vulgar and racism.

the above is just way out of line. that person shouldnt be playing video games...
