The race took place on De La Verendre boulevard here in Montreal during the day. (Speed limit 70km/h except in front of this big park where its 50km/h).
We actually raced 4 or 5 times. I was in the accord (as a passenger), while a friend of mine was driving the accord and two other friends were in the Tempo. The first few times we raced we were going from stop light to stop light. The tempo (an automatic, the accord was a stick shift) pulled out ahead up to about 30km/h, then we flew by them at the blistering speed of 80km/h, slowing down once we reached 110 . My friends in the tempo assumed they were kicking their ass cause they thought we were racing for acceleration, not from stop light to stop light.
So, we raced one more time. I told my friend how to launch better (by revving up and dropping the clutch instead of starting normally), so we got a much better launch. We noticed the tempo wasn't going very fast. After, we found out the driver forgot to step on the gas! haha.
Well, there you have it. Watch out on the streets, you may be challenged by one of these hot rods next.
