wow, I just went there today.
I was buying eggs, and they were buy one get one free for a dozen. So I pick up two dozen. Then the stupid b!tch at the counter tells me those aren't two dozen packs but 4 six egg packs that they forgot to split up. So let them strike.

Strange. All the Safeways that I've been to are open 24 hours. Albertsons usually closes at midnight around here.

Supermarket strikes are good for the consumer.. things become real cheap. Only drawback is their fresh produce starts lacking.

The Safeway here closes at midnight and the Albertson's closes at 2:00.

Funny, there's been no word on any strikes coming out of NorCal. Working on the corporate end of Safeway, I'd have heard about it by now. When Vons went on strike, we had word at least a week out. The only group that's even close to striking was our Phoenix division, but they're trying to work on the contract still.

Where did you hear about a possible strike? I know that the union in SoCal is sending strikers up north to try to drum up support for their strike.
