Ok, so I have this computer, has a SATA HD. Sometimes when I would boot it up it would not detect the HD, and sometimes it would but it would just sit on verifying DMI pool data forever.
So I took the HD out, hooked it up with an external sata hookup and the drive was working fine. I backed up data put it in the computer again and now it's booting just fine. How can I narrow down what was going on? What would it usually mean if it gets stuck at verifying DMI pool data? I mean if the HD was just bad wouldn't it go past that and say invalid system disk or something? Maybe it was just a bios setting some how? I just don't want it to happen again.
