ROFL, be thankful that America has an immigration policy at all. Tell me in detail how a Mexican family or an Iranian family would be welcomed into your beloved motherland and how your country would go out of it's way to make their experience as friendly as possible. Then and only then complain about how terrible you have it here.





You're in the country that does the MOST for immigrants from all cultures, the country that makes things the EASIEST on anyone that wants to ditch their homeland and you're still whining about how tough it is. That's just pathetic. Nowhere on earth are immigrants more welcome and that still isn't enough for you. What exactly do you expect to happen? You want over 300 million people to meet you at the border, sing Kumbaya and pledge to adopt all your customs just to make things easier? Get real.

As dickish as this guys comments are and how he completely missed the point of the thread, it is true that Asian countries are far more racist and intolerant vs Western ones. I know of mideastern, Indian, Pakistani and black people that were treated like shit in Korea just because they were different (Whites don't get it as often since Asians worship White skin). In fact it happens more often than not in Asian countries so I have very little sympathy for Asians that cry about racism in the US.

If anything I would say Western civilization is very open and accepting of others, especially the US.

OP is going to have to nut the hell up. That entire blog post was one of the whinier things I've come across. I say this as a first gen of Korean parents. I didn't even know English well until like the 4th grade. I lived in the inner city.

I'm white, my wife was born in Mexico. We get static every once and a while from Hispanics both male and female over us being interracial. Racism exists everywhere and at all levels of society and you can't change some close minded individuals mind about the topic so why try.

Nope. That must be some artifact of your culture that you're imposing on America. The Constitution clearly prohibits this and it's against the mainstream ideals of America. It's exactly a complaint. It's a complaint that their story isn't picture perfect.

News flash. NOBODY has a story that is picture perfect. Many people get fun of. It's not because of race. Young people will find ANYTHING that's different and mercilessly beat you to do ground because of it. This is an age where there are TONS of first generation immigrants growing up in the late teens early 20's.

Almost everyone has issues "fitting" in with the crowd, immigrants just happen to have something else to have an issue with.

Hell, I don't consider myself American OR Korean. I just kinda stay in limbo, mostly because I don't actually care to consider myself anything. To Americans, I can be extremely "foreign" one moment and act like I just came off the boat, and the next act like my family grew up in Ohio for the last 3 generations. I can easily alienate myself from either culture, and yet I don't have a problem with it.

This shit should only bother you if you LET it bother you. Because in the end, there really isn't an impact for not giving a damn.

My fiancee's background is mixed with her half-sister being more spanish.

She was whining about Spirit Airlines not giving her a refund for missing her flight and I commented that that is what the $15 or whatever travel insurance they sell is for and for many other airlines you have to pay much more for a transferable / cancel type of ticket.

Lack of compassion / etc all got thrown around and I simply stated "everyone feels their reason to cancel/not show up" is a good one.

I was told I just think she is a stupid mexican and basically if she was white I'd be siding with her then she immediately blocked me from her Facebook
