Thank you all for all the suggestions.

After all, I've chagned my mind again and decided to go with this.

Not because it's a great card or anything but I realized I've been fine with current 8600GT 256mb. I have that desire to play 3d games in good settings but then again, I haven't played a single game more than a year.

Again, my initial goal was to find a low profile GPU that doesn't suck up electricity while being noisy. In the mean time, I have high hopes and worries about Fermi. If Fermi does what it's promises to do, I guess I'll make a jump to it; until then, I guess it's Geforece 220 for me and that $100 saved by doing so will go to Samsung F3 HDD purchase.

I very much doubt there will ever be a low profile Fermi based card, and if there is one it will be a very long time. Low profile models generally get released months after their full profile counterparts are, and the full profile counterparts might not be seen for another 2-4 months

Almost $90 for that thing... And it's not even low profile. Ouch. Well, it's your money in the end

Really depends on what the OEMs want. If Dell wants to stick a Fermi in a slim or small form factor PC. You better believe there will be that option near release. As for retail versions? That may take some time.

Do you have any other suggestions? I chose 220 just because it's 40nm based cards that doesn't suck up power. If there're any other nVidia cards that are quiet while not needy on power consumption, I'd go for it (If so, it doesn't need to be 40nm.)

No, I don't expect low profile Fermi cards to be around anytime soon. If Fermi can do what is supposed to do, I won't mind it being not low profile.

So then your case allows full height cards? Why qwould you even mention wanting low profile cards then, theres no benefit unless you're stuck with a slim case

Oops. If low profile is about height, I got it totally wrong. I thought it was about power consumption and noise.

profile (noun)
1. the outermost shape, view, or edge of an object.
...
5. the amount by which something protrudes.

Not sure where you got the idea about power & noise (which are only indirectly related to each other anyway). So do you not necessarily need a low profile ("half-height") sized card? This should depend on your case.
