Something must be broken. You can't re-enter your email addresss...says already entered.
And the timer restarts itself.

Downloading now. All I did was go back to the site today, and it had a "Grab it now" button. I never actually got an email.

Yeah, I didnt get a email either, but am downloading it now. I love the fact at the end of the agreement it states: "Microsoft Reserves the rights to terminate this program at anytime."

Let me know how works out; i want to do the same thing.

The only competition that is driving this deal is competition from pirated versions. You think MS is offering this deal to college students because they're afraid of OpenOffice?

Microsoft or an appointed vendor may contact you to verify that you are a current student. If documentation is not provided indicating that you are a current student, you will be liable to reimburse Microsoft for the full retail cost of the software ($679)

Ouch. I was going to try this since I will always have my university email address and student ID card, but I think I'll pass. My free copy from that power together thing will have to do for now.

I'm not sure if they can do that unless they get proof up front. Once you have paid for it and received the activation key charging additional $ seems like it would violate one of the consumer protection laws. Take away your license and refund you sure, but not charge you more retroactivly.

Remember this is perpetual licensing.

And that means what exactly? You can't keep using it after you stop taking classes?

Perpetual licensing:

A perpetual license gives you the entitlement to use the software forever however you must pay for all of the cost. Open Licence, Enterprise Agreement and Select Agreement are all perpetual. Amalgamating a perpetual licence with Software Assurance enables you to use the latest version of a product during the term of your agreement.

I keep hearing "university" but I also hear that it only requires a .edu address. I go to a local community college that is under the University System of Georgia. Does that mean I can still apply?

If it's in the sales agreement in that little box you checked then you agree to the terms and conditions. It may have been put there to prevent abuse - no one knows for sure.

Does anyone know how to order the CD with this?
download only? I'd prefer a CD too.

in the order process, a cd will be shipped for a nominal fee

I saw the comment about shipping a physical CD for a nominal fee, but I never saw anything after that.

all Office 2007 Ultimate's are the same, right? this is EXACTLY the same thing you'd get regularly from Newegg, Fry's, Bestbuy, etc.?

also, does anyone know if there's a limit? or whether you can resell it? cause there's a few people i know that want Office 2007 but won't get it due to cost. i'm willing to get them a copy for $60 + tax...not for free though.
