I ordered my CDs the other day and they have shipped.

Click the "MICROSOFT" logo at the top of the page for an interesting find.

Office 2007 is the only time a new Office or Windows has felt like a must-have for me. I get really annoyed by anything older than 2007 after using it for only a month.

Thanks

EDS, aka Extended Download Service allows you to redownload your software after 30 days but not longer than 2 years.

"1. Extended Download Service - Upon payment of the specified fee, Digital River, Inc. ("DR") agrees to provide you (the "End User") a service that enables the End User to make multiple downloads of digital computer software products (a "Product" or "Products") purchased in a single order (an "Order") and downloaded from this website (the "Site") for a period of 2 (two) years after the End User purchases the Product (the "Service")."

The solution to that is to get a one-time credit card # from your card issuer, and put a limit of, say, $65 in the one-time card. Then they won't just be able to TAKE your money...

I don't think you have to worry about that. Digital River is processing the order not Microsoft. Besides there are probably laws against them just dinging you credit card. I am sure MS would send you a bill if they did verify you are a student and you could not provide proof.

Everytime I click on the "Grab it now" button it requires me to enter my school email address, yet it keeps telling me the email addy is already entered in the system. How did you started downloading when you do not have a password yet which is supposed to be sent to the student via student's email addy?

Jiggz, did you enter your email address originally? It took an hour for me to get mine, obviously the email was sent late or my school email server was slow to process it, I am not sure which. There is no way to proceed without the password they give in you the email.

I waited almost forever so I re-read the instructions again and finally got the idea how to do it. First, the instruction says download the trial version first (which I'm still searching for since all I can see are the Regular Officer 2007 and the Pro version but not the ultimate version). After installing the software, then you need to order it like you are buying the whole thing. According to the instruction, this is when they send you a password to the school email. I'll keep working on it and keep you posting.

The darn thing is still not working and haven't received any email from digitalriver.com. I tried sending a test email to my school email addy and it works fine. Either this ultimate deal is bogus or the school email is auto filtering out emails from digitalriver since it's taking out $$$ from their computer software store or book store! Has anybody able to take advantage of the so called Ultimate Deal!

My aunt upgraded her home business computer to a modern PC from an IBM AT just 3 years ago:Q

And I'll bet you she upgraded to a P-133 system too! And with the P-133 almost three years old by now, she is probably planning to upgrade to an Athlon 1Ghz system by this year! Wow! I wonder if she has moved out of the Win95B OS yet?

I had to wait for the email from Digital River, you could contact their CS department if you are getting antsy like I was. I sent an email to DR CS but I got my initial email way before CS replied with the same info.

I never downloaded the trial copy, i got my email after waiting ~1 hour and downloaded the full version.

Finally got around to installing it on my laptop. Wonderful deal for the full office suite. Unlike many people I've spoken to, I love Office 2k7 so far.

frustrating isn't it?

Absolutely! But after successfully downloading and installing it's all worth the blood, sweat and tears! I was in desperate need of Access 2003 and the cheapest I can find is around $100! Well, with the one it's almost a giveaway.

If you bought the license and would like to get a backup DVD, check your email.

DVD media is available till 10/29 for $6.95. CD media was previously available for $12.95.
It's basically a trial office ultimate DVD in a paper sleeve.

You have no idea how things disappear from right under your nose.

I signed up with my alumni email address (I'm staff right now, applying for PhD program), thinking that it wouldn't go through.

Well, it did. Now I'm debating whether I'm already in hot water and should go ahead and download it, or whether actually using the key is what triggers their scrutiny.

Have they actually contacted anyone for proof of enrollment?
