Someone from their forums discribing the correct installation procedure for this card:
In typical Pinnacle fashion, the only possible cause of your problems is YOU. Please try the following to rectify your situation:
Uninstall your software and re-install. Make sure you go through the entire process. If you don't reboot at least 6 times and take at least an hour doing it, you're doing something wrong. Don't blame the Pinnacle software, it was especially designed to promote frustration. Next, grab the phone and call Pinnacle Tech support. You will hear the uncaring voice of the village idiot, who will randomly pick technical suggestions from a general list because they have nothing intelligent to offer. None of their random suggestions will help you, but at least you get to listen to a human voice. Hell, you probably don't even own a Pinnacle card, but just called their number because you are lonely.
After following those steps: uninstall and then reinstall your software again. Don't forget to follow the instructions that require you to reboot at least 6 times. 7 times is better. Uninstall your software again and then go to the Pinnacle web site and d/l the utility that will allow you to uninstall the registry entries that were never uninstalled the first time, but necessary to proceed. Install the registry deletion software and cross your fingers, knowing how competant the Pinnacle software/drivers has been in the past, trust it to start tinkering with your registry. If your system survives, install the software again. Be sure to reboot 6-7 times when prompted. (by the time you have reached this point, you should have installed and un-installed the software about 36 times) When the installation process is complete and your card still doesn't work, go over the un-installation process again. Don't forget to run the registry deletion software. Put your Pinnacle card back into the box and pack it with all manuals and software. go to ebay.com and place the card up for auction. Start the bidding at .99 + shippping. Wait 7-10 days for the auction to end. Carefully pack it for shipping. Go to paypal.com and collect the $2.00 you earned in the auction. After collecting your money go to the Post Office and ship your Pinnacle card out to the next unsuspecting victim. Try to sleep at night, knowing you were bilked by an uncaring corporation selling garbage.
