I don't think it can be said enough, so I will let the two BMW jerk threads stand.

I kid. I don't think they are jerks, I just think some of the entry-level owners have an inflated sense of self-worth. Unless you are rocking a 7-series, your car isn't that insane.

I drive a German car and I notice other cars back off much more when I merge into their lane b/c they don't want to damage it.

When I drove old cars as a student, cars would plow more into me....much more discourteous.

Btw, I'm not a jerk when I drive...

I think BMW drivers definitely have a higher douchebag to normal person ratio than any other car, I guess it's because they want what's perceived as a "fancy" car and low-end BMWs are usually quite affordable (but a bad purchase).

It seemed to vary based on area of the country for me. There were a lot of jerks driving when I was in New England, but I never noticed it as more likely from certain makes of car. It was just everyone.

Then I moved to DC and there are just as many jerks but they're almost always in BMWs or Acuras.
