Get married?

Seriously, tons to do in Vegas (I don't gamble either). Lots of good restaurants. Walk around the casinos. Take a tour to the Hoover Dam. Check out the clubs at night.

For some more off beat stuff to do in Vegas check out the unique museums like the National Atomic Testing Museum and the Erotic Heritage Museum. There is lots of really weird stuff to see in Las Vegas.

Neon Boneyard museum. Need reservations for that though. It's a 1hr guided tour.

This may have been said already, but of course the #1 thing to do in Vegas is prostitutes.

Hoover Dam was mentioned, but I'm mentioning it again ... It's awesome. when I was in vegas 20+ years ago as a teenager, the Dam and Circus Circus were my favorites.

I've always wanted to go see Penn & Teller, but I don't like the desert heat and in the winter, I'd rather hop on a cruise ship than drive to the desert.

I concur with eats and Hoover dam. There is some world class food in Vegas. Like, all over the place.

Even if you dont gamble, walk through some of the hotels and casinos. Bellagio and Caesars are fantastic. Wander into the High Roller rooms and hang out...impressive amounts of money gets thrown around in there. Its pretty fun. Oh and hit the Bellagio water show at night.

Penn & Teller are as awesome as you think. Love their show!

I'd go to Cirque before Penn & Teller (and I like magic) but do catch the P&T tv show 'Fool Us' - each episode is four guest magicians and then P&T do one trick.

Drive to ZION national park and hit angels landing, its a shorter (3hr) beautiful drive. You can do it in a day.

I also drove north to Area 51. I loved it but be prepared its very desolate, go to the back gate if you want good pictures.

Also, I haven't seen his actual own show (just when he was in Vegas Nocturne), but Piff the Magic Dragon is pretty good.

I took a (scary) plane trip over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. There's also the pirate thingy at treasure island and the shooting jets of water by one of the hotels.... crap I forget which one, but I assume somebody mentioned it already.

Is, if I were to spend a 3-4 day weekend in LV next month, what should I do? Are there State Parks nearby? Camping? Anything other than the strip really?

I mean, to hear some people tell it, it's basically somewhere between Afghanistan and Breaking Bad once you leave the tourist areas. But I kinda have a hard time believing that.

It kinda is. I go to LV 2x a year for work. I stay on the strip but my clients are about 20 west of the strip.

As you drive out of the strip, it becomes very desserty and barren. You will see a lot of apartments and neighborhoods, but they all look the same (adobe style, red shingle roof, etc). You'll see some strip mall type shopping centers. It's just very plain.

You could go see the Red Rock Canyon as someone else posted.
