They appear to have helped mice with Alzheimer's

~In a study, published in the journal The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a molecule identified and synthesized by UCLA Health researchers was shown to restore cognitive functions in mice with symptoms of Alzheimer's disease by effectively jump-starting the brain's memory circuitry.

Jeff Bezos put together a crew and went to recover engines from the Saturn V in the ocean. They are now a display exhibit at the Museum of Flight.

Rogan has been discussed a hundred other times here, especially when having a controversial guest on. I wasn't noting that IronWing hadn't commented on it, but the AT collective.
First time I ever watched a Rogan video it was a great interview with Michael Osterholm in March 2020 where he was telling us how fucked we were about to be by the pandemic and Osterholm was making it clear this was an airborne virus and the don't touch your face and wash your hands was BS that wouldn't save us. Was an amazing interview and had no idea Rogan was a right wing nutjob when I saw it.

Never heard Rogan. He gets stuff on his show that sounds interesting to me, but everything I've heard says he's an unreliable host; Bullshit and quality have equal standing. I prefer my news/infotainment to be curated, and don't feel like researching every show that airs to be sure it's even worth my time. If I'm gonna do that, I might as well just do it myself, and skip the spoonfeeding that could end up being HFCS, hydrogenated oil, and artificial color.

Good luck getting any honest/true news outlet. I read through 10 different sites to try and get just the facts. Impossible.

Fairly sure you guys know I'm a righty but the Rs eff us/Americans as much as I think the left does.

People inside the beltway want us regular guys to be at odds so they can continue business as usual.

Left of center friend in San Fran, he and I agree on about 90% of the issurs and could actually get things done.

ff the soapbox;

Osterholm also said in that interview nothing less than properly fitted N95 would be effective for protection. He later walked back on that several months later, saying that any masking is better than no masking.

If you include English as a second language, it's going to cover most of that chart.

The English thought that they were "civilizing" the world but where they failed, the internet succeeded.

I mean, it's not as if you can speak English and NOT be civilized of course. There are plenty of African and other countries that will attest to that. But one "universal" language is a step in the right direction. I'm just happy it's English since I can't learn another language to save my life.

Ooo, we hepped da wittle mousies wit da Alzheimer's.

I'm pretty sure we gave it to them to begin with.

Oh.
Jeff Bezos put together a crew and went to recover engines from the Saturn V in the ocean. They are now a display exhibit at the Museum of Flight.

That's pretty cool. I visited there long ago and I think they just had one of the Saturn V exhaust nozzles on display. It was still pretty impressive.

N95 is still only 95% effective on average - it's right there in the name for facts' sake. The first time I went to buy groceries and before I knew better, I wore a f'ing respirator. If you like face tattoos, wear one of those for 24 hours.

A respirator mask (fitted) would have been even more effective protection than common N95, though it would depend on the rating of the filtration inserts. I wore masks for hours on end under hot lamps, gowned and gloved working in surgery for many years. It is tough to get acclimated to, its why one of our instructors required us to wear masks during class for a few weeks before our first foray into a real live hospital/surgical setting for observation/training.

There's a delay line memory module (subject of a previous post in this thread) for sale. That's a lot of mercury!

Old computers of the vacuum tube age look like they were some sort of sci fi alien technology. They were crazy advanced for their time. All that complexity, and now we just melt sand.
