I realize that many of you like cats. I do too sometimes. Right now I'm having trouble justifying keeping it around.

It's peed on my daughter's coat, backpack, a pair of her jeans.

Several times on the floor, pooped there too.

Any of you have any advice or should I drive it to China-town?

The cat is trying to tell you that something is wrong with it. Take it to the vet.

Was the cat previously box trained? How old is the cat? You should probably take it to the vet if the cat's behavior has changed recently.

You need to CATch it doing that and beat it.

I'd rather load you in a CATapult. Or perhaps use a CAT-o-nine-tails.

Its either sick..or it hates your daughter. Does she only do things to your daughters stuff, or in her room? If so, there is your answer.

I'd say relocate the cat.

Did this just start suddenly?

Is it your only cat?

Is it an indoor cat?

Any major changes in the household? (been on vacation, visitors staying with you, moving stuff around etc...)

Fill a squirt gun or bottle with a mix of 50/50 water and vinegar, when you catch the cat peeing, take a shot at his/her face, then grab him/her and toss him/her into the cat litter box.

It's not the only cat.

There have been LOTS of recent changes including new doors and a change in the position of the litter box.

The cat used to go fine in the box. It's not ALWAYS on my daughter's stuff, that's just the most irritating.

Have you changed the type/brand of litter recently? Is there any way to put the box back where it used to be?

Sounds to me he's telling you he's not happy with all the changes

One of our cats hates change.....it we go on vacation he pisses all over kitchen counters

My mother came to stay and he did the same. :|

This is the number one problem most people experience with a house cat. The first thing you need to figure out is whether it is in fact urinating rather than spraying. Spraying is a territorial/marking behavior while urination is definately a sign that something is wrong. If it is backing up to things and spraying with it's tail held straight up then you can try using Feliway to see if you can halt the behavior. If it is urinating then a trip to the vet is the best place to start.

I read that last sentence quickly and thought, only for a moment, that your mother pissed on your kitchen counters. :Q

Got Petsmart? They have an enzyme product that will remove the order. Not too cheap, but works great. When doing laundry, add some of it and also white vinegar along with soap to remove the odor and urine. You can also spray it on the areas to remove it.

BTW, cat pee glows under black light.

Yeah, it's probably upset at the changes. Take it to the vet and see if you can get a tranquilizer prescribed for it. My cat recently started spraying after we adopted three new cats, and now he's on estrogen
