Got a complaint about em!? Come on down! Feel that they are incompetent retards? Come on down! Here I will start it off...
Today I entered frys hoping that after christmas sales would be there but they werent, so as I was being bored doing nothing I decided (as usual) to talk to the frys associates (the ones in the laptop sections are the dumbest but most entertaining) so as I was talking to some about the quality of thier laptops one girl said yes I know these are crap, if I was going to buy a laptop I would most definately get an IBM.
And so the conversation continued and nothing annoying there but then I got to another fry's associate who clearly didn't know the difference between Centrino based laptops (Pentium M processors) and P4-M based laptops (pentium 4 processors with speedstep). I was bitchin about the desktop replacements with the pentium 4 processors saying how it was stupid that they even bother to put batteries in them since they barely get 30 minutes out of them. Then mentioned that it was good that intel was going to drop the pentium 4 line of processors for the laptops since they know centrino can whoop the p4's a$$ and then he remarked, "We did a performance test here at fry's comparing the pentium 4 and the centrino (pentium m) and the pentium 4 wiped the floor clean with the pentium m.
I said, are you sure about this? What was the speed of the pentium 4 and the centrino? He said the pentium 4 was a 3.06GHZ and the centrino was a 1.7ghz! I was appauled because if they knew anything, they would know thats comparing apples to oranges. He said, "how so?" I replied, "well because the centrino works in performance of 1.5*clock speed of centrino computer". I was very surprised he didn't know this and was very irritating that he thought the pentium 4 was much faster than the centrino because he has probably sold tons of laptops to misguided users' thinking they were getting a better one than one with a centrino processor...
Just pathetic IMO.
